I do believe that you just hit “Occam’s Razor” for this situation. All border states could make this standard LEO procedure. I would hate to see Americans subjected to “Papers Please” but the assault on our country warrants it.
If a traffic cop stops me, the first thing on his mind (that is evident) is my papers. I resent having to produce a driver's license. Resent times 10 having to show him my registration. Multiply that by 10 and you're approaching the degree of my resentment about having to show an insurance card.
Interesting how that works, isn't it??
Actually, Hispanic Arizonans have roots here that were planted even BEFORE the Gadsden Purchase. Our identity is Arizonan and our story is NOT of migration from anywhere else. We feel very invaded by decades of runaway immigration into our state; especially by those ignorant, little commies-in-training demonstrating in Phoenix yesterday.
I’m not intending to tar ALL Hispanics with the same brush. I am in S. Texas so I am well aware of the Hispanics who remained in the US after Santa Anna was defeated and the American southwest became, essentially, what it is today.
Many of the people I work with are of Hispanic origin and their families have been here for generations.
The issue stems from so-called Hispanic groups pretending to represent ALL Hispanics. They are the ones who have basically self-identified Hispanics as the primary target of the Arizona law which, as I posted previously, comes across as a tacit admission that Hispanics are the ones primarily illegally occupying our country.
There is a HUGE difference, IMO, between those Hispanics who remained here after Santa Anna was defeated and helped to build the American southwest, and those who are breaking our laws and violating our national sovereignty at will.
One group is American.
The other is not!
Sheriff Joe has already opened up a Section 1070 in his tent city for those protesters.
Ping!
“I always cringe when theres a female judge and Im female.”
As a female, me too.
Thank you for your honest comment.
There were hispanics inside the Alamo and drumming up reinforcements for it. Seguin was commissioned a captain for recruiting and leading about 200 rancheros in support of the revolution.
Didn’t the Obambi administration just reissue a ban on drilling in the gulf after the courts shot their first one down?
Arizona should be ready to do the same.
Thus, my reply.
(I live in the Alamo City, by the by. I'm pretty knowledgeable about the defenders.)
This is SO typical of reporters nowadays. The sentence should continue - and that person has been detained for committing another crime.
The way they write it, it makes the reader believe the cops can just arbitrarily stop someone because they think they're here illegally.

Inside the courtroom, it was the state of Arizona vs. the federal government.
They better be happy 'tension' is all they have. IMHO, any of the Founders would have bit@h-slapped someone by now.
Hence, my clarification.
