Drudge has this story titled as a “gift to the Dems!” Not certain what he means by that. Can some someone elaborate as it’s gone over my head.

Editorial Reviews Product Description

President George W. Bush describes the critical decisions of his presidency and personal life.

Decision Points is the extraordinary memoir of America’s 43rd president. Shattering the conventions of political autobiography, George W. Bush offers a strikingly candid journey through the defining decisions of his life.

In gripping, never-before-heard detail, President Bush brings readers inside the Texas Governor’s Mansion on the night of the hotly contested 2000 election; aboard Air Force One on 9/11, in the hours after America’s most devastating attack since Pearl Harbor; at the head of the table in the Situation Room in the moments before launching the war in Iraq; and behind the Oval Office desk for his historic and controversial decisions on the financial crisis, Hurricane Katrina, Afghanistan, Iran, and other issues that have shaped the first decade of the 21st century.

President Bush writes honestly and directly about his flaws and mistakes, as well as his accomplishments reforming education, treating HIV/AIDS in Africa, and safeguarding the country amid chilling warnings of additional terrorist attacks. He also offers intimate new details on his decision to quit drinking, discovery of faith, and relationship with his family.

A groundbreaking new brand of memoir, Decision Points will captivate supporters, surprise critics, and change perspectives on one of the most consequential eras in American history – and the man at the center of events.

It puts Bush back in the spotlight at a time when that’s exactly what Democrats want to do to distract from their performance.

Gives dems a chance to put media focus on Bush’s book and remind voters of his screwups.

Not good for GOP = gift for dems

Bush should have waited until after the election. But as usual he fumbles little things like timing.

Maybe he really is as dumb as the MSM made him out to be..

Yep, anything at all in the news will just strengthen the “Bush’s Fault” narrative.

The timing of this just dropped my opinion of his political instincts.

I don’t know if it’s a fumble or not... for him. With all the free publicity from the Dems, he’ll sell a lot of books. After the election? Who will be talking about Bush? I’m sure the publisher chose the date to maximize sales... that’s their job.

Of course he should have waited until after the election, but what to you expect from the guy that all but greased the skids for our current CIC?

Fumble? Whoever chose the release date knew exactly what they were doing. Book release dates are not usually left to chance, especially a book penned by a former POTUS. How many more of these fumbles need we endure before it becomes obvious to everyone that it's not an accident that such a gift is laid in the laps of the Dims a month before what could possibly be the single most important election in the past century? This plays right into the Dims plans to "blame Bush" in the upcoming election. Progressives suck. All of them.

I doubt seriously that Bush personally planned the timing for the release of his book. The publisher no doubt planned the strategery and made it part of the deal -— “agree to this release date or no deal. Period.” There are certain times of the year that publishers like to release certain kinds of books. Right before a potentially decisive election would be one of those.

I hope he comes down hard and heavy on Blank-o.

And sets the record straight on Katrina.

You hit the nail on the head with that statement!

To be released on November 9. Even if it is embargoed, it will get into the wrong hands before the election.

I have to disagree with all of you. The blame Bush argument has run its course.

Yeah, there’s a lot of political BS I wish Bush would clear up. But is he going on the talk show circuit? Will he make endless appearances? I doubt it. He’s still going to try and be dignified ex-President (I know something out of the past) Instead, I think his appearances will be reserved and limited, therefore he’ll set himself up to be the Bush Bo Bo doll again and regardless of what the book says, Dems will just perpetuate their talking points with very limited and selected quotes turned on their head.
