NJ Gov Chris Christie approval rating rises to 51 percent

The latest Rasmussen poll has New Jersey Governor Chris Christie with his head above water at a 51 percent approval rating. This is a signifcant uptick, as teachers unions in the state have carpet bombed the airwaves with $6 million in ads attacking him since March. In April, his approval rating in one poll sank as low as 33 percent.

However, Rasmussen still finds the Governor a polarizing figure in the Garden State, even if the majority of the state is coming around:

A new Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of Likely New Jersey Voters shows that 51% approve of how the new Republican governor is doing his job, while 45% disapprove. This includes 33% who Strongly Approve and 31% who Strongly Disapprove.

Retired teachers are getting massive, obscene pensions — and they have NO mortgage, or kids at that point to finance. SKIR-REW THEM - they can “survive” a large cut in those HUGE MONTHLY CHECKS! PLUS, these corrupt whiny crooks normally get most of their HC insurance & costs paid for - OUTRAGEOUS, that they won’t accept a hit!

GREED GREED GREED!

My cousin brags to me about the fact that he is getting 85% of salary at retirement in three years along with health care for life. His justification is that he doesn't get nearly as much as "investment bankers" and therefore deserves the guaranteed bennies.

BTW: He is taking those gold-plated bennies with him to North Carolina, like so many other retired NJ state employees before him.

If you REALLY WANT TO KNOW..read about David Horowitz’ transformation.

As for me, my parents values were conservative, pro military, very patriotic, and anti commie..it was very odd to my friends that during those days of protesting ..I never joined them to protest the Vietnam war nor did I join the ‘socialist groups” that my friends belonged to, but I did protest for equal rights and a greater sense of community.

There was an aspect of the Hippie movement that was very egaletarian and grass roots community ( kind of an early Tea Party). As young people in their twenties, many of us were very idealistic about society ....a good thing to have in your twenties.

Many of my “Hippie” friends who got past the drug and drinking days, finished school, and went to work...ended up taking the best of those times and becomming good citizens, very often conservatives, some moderate democrates.

I work customer service in NJ. I hear almost every day about how taxes and corruption are ruining that state. The people who are tired of paying all the bills in NJ knew exactly what they wanted when they elected Chris Christie, and they’re happy about the way he’s taken on the drone unions.

Yeah, I was there. Never drank the Koolaid, but I had “the look”.

My dad was a veteran, I couldn’t stand the anti-war types, made friends with some returning VN vets.

Hippies and the Tea Party are polar opposites. Hippies make me vomit. I hated hippies when I was 11 in 1972 and I still hate them. Hippies suck.

I’d like to attempt to coin a phrase please.

Came to me reading the headline, and thinking about how few in the GOP really have any ... stones.

Ironically it is GOP women such as Bachmann, Palin and that amazing AZ Governor who are actually standing tall. And winning huge support for it.

But there is NJ Governor Christie. He’s a GOP guy, and taking on the left.

Got me wondering what he’s got, which the milquetoast, country club globalist RINO’s don’t. And it dawned on me.

Governor Christie and the strong GOP women have that elusive quality that the leader of a lion pride has - and which the country club set knows they don’t. Which is why they shrink from being the same way:

“Alpha”.

Governor Christie is an Alpha Republican.

And people *love* that. Republicans love it. Independents love it. It’s what Ronald Reagan had, as he explained how he had outlawed the Soviet Union, and the bombers were on the way.

So my proposed term: “Alpha Republicans”. :)

Go gettum. Or get out of the way.

“A lot of us thought this is how Arnold S. was going to act.”

-—<>-—<>-—<>-—<>-—<>-—<>-—

Very true!

The movement in this poll - from 33% in April, to 51% now, is nearly unbelieveable. Perhaps in April, there were many people who thought he would cave?

This is a textbook example of leadership. Do what is right. Take on powerful interests that are bringing the state down. Weather the bad publicity from the union demonization campaign. Be smart in how you work with the Dems that control the legislature. He appears to have won the budget battle. I’m already on the Christie in 2016 bandwagon but if he keeps this up, I’ll be on the Christie in 2012 bandwagon.

Hear Hear.

The more I hear of REPUBLICAN Christie the better he sounds and I am for, federalism, limited government, getting the government out of the economy, constitutional conservatism, pro-life, lower taxes and less regulation, deporting illegals deep into Mexico etc.

But I am sure many of the GOP Bashers here and elsewhere will find some endorsement that he made 10 years ago to try to convince us that Christie is no good as they demonize Palin for a single endorsement out of millions of conservative actions Palin has taken.

I am for Christie and Palin and I am for dismantling the thousands of government agencies that cripple our FREE MARKET CAPITALISM.

My plan:
As President I would:
1. ON day 1 I would order the military to deport all illegals deep into Mexico so that it would cause them great economic cost to get back. I would order the military to the border, patriot missiles, tanks, and nuclear missiles to the border with Mexico so that Mexico won't object to the deportation.
2. On day 2 , I order all heads of government agencies like the EPA, FCC, dept of interior, etc. to lay off of the free market. Later the plan is to dismantle all of these thousands of government agencies.
3. Explain economics to the American people and how government/socialism doesn't work( see my about page for why capitalism is 1000 times more efficient than government). This will facilitate reducing government, crippling government laws and regulations and instituting a flat tax of 12% in place of all other taxes. No taxes on business , no regulations on business.
4. Only functions of government are military, border control, international issues like trade and what comes into the country be it people or products etc., courts ,police, protecting the country from invaders, protecting individual rights like the right to life (including of the fetus), the right to free speech, the right to liberty, the right to be left alone, the right to bear arms etc.. Free market capitalism can produce anything people may need.
.

5. Ban unions.

6.Abolish the EPA, FCC, FEC, dept of education, government schools, the hundreds of taxes, the thousands of 2000 page laws that mandate government growth, the thousands of crippling government laws and regulations and agencies like the banking regulations and regulators now killing our economy .

7. Dismantle the welfare state. You don't work you don't eat, period no exceptions.

8. Dismantle social security ,medicare and every other useless government program and agency even NASA who is now doing global warming studies, Muslim outreach, gay outreach and other madness with billions of our tax dollars when they should be trying to blow up more people in space shuttles or going to Mars to get rocks like that is needed. many more

9... 100 but I have to go now to work to pay the government criminals who will in turn give my money they take from me at the point of a gun to those who won't work , those on welfare.

Hopefully Palin or Christie can do all this and more. If not by God someone should do it. Tancredo would. I would and I'm running too.

The more I hear of this great constitutional conservative woman ,Sarah Palin, REPUBLICAN Sarah Palin the better she sounds and I am for, federalism, limited government, getting the government out of the economy, constitutional conservatism, pro-life, lower taxes and less regulation, deporting illegals deep into Mexico etc. And I know Palin is for most if not all of that.

It is ridiculous that many GOP Bashers here and elsewhere find some endorsement that Palin made to try to convince us that Palin is no good . These "conservatives" demonize Palin for a single endorsement(that of McCain) out of millions of conservative actions Palin has taken. That is ridiculous. And that they take over a forum like this with that argument is even more ridiculous. Hey, you Palin Bashers, you GOP bashing "conservatives" you might think you are conservatives or you are democrats/marxists posing as conservatives : but in either case you liberals/democrats/marxists drop your big government agenda and get a clue about economics by reading my profie. It's kinda hard to get a job or eat without the good economy that only Free Market Capitalism provides.

I am for the governor of Arizo, Christie and Palin and I am for dismantling the thousands of government agencies that cripple our FREE MARKET CAPITALISM.
