From the video article: "As the uncuffed detainee goes to wipe his eye, he gets one violent kick to his head. Looking at it again, it's possible the officer was trying to stomp on the suspect's hand, and instead skipped the toe of his boot off the suspect's head."
It's just damned stupid of the officer to have made the threat, no matter wha prompted the racial outburst. Unfortunately, the video doesn't show what elicited that response. If you watch the video tape ( http://www.kirotv.com/video/23482801/index.html ), you'll see that what the reporter calls the suspect "wiping his eye" is in fact the suspect pointing two fingers to his temple.
From what I can see, it's very possible that the suspect was indeed wiping his eye. It's also possible that he was signaling to someone to put a bullet in the brain of the officer, a gang unit member. Comments?
Just watch, this is not going to be pretty when it's all over with.
This is the crap that makes hooting liberals point at all law enforcement and say "See they're all racist nazis!"
C-c-c-can’t we all just get along?!
I absolutely agree that there is no justification for the racial threat. But regarding the “kick to the head,” if that WAS supposed to be a gun signal, the response could have been self-preservation. Does anyone else see that as a gun signal?
I wonder if we’ll here about this in the news next week?
I’m positive the darling “gang banger” wasn’t wiping his eye. I’m also positive that the video was carefully edited to not show what the “suspects” did prior to the carefully selected segment that was chosen to make the cops look bad.
I wasn’t there, so I don’t know. I have, however, witnessed gang members terrorizing citizens on the street with impunity.
It’s hard to feel sympathy if they were mistreated.
Not all LEO act like nazis, but many do.
As to a mex revolt, bring it on. The good Mexican-American citizens have much more to fear from these obviously drug-gang inspired commy mex troublemakers than do us gringos. When its all said and done the “comeyet” culture can take note of how this turns out as an example for them to see.
I won’t speculate as to any hidden gang signs but what i do see clearly is the cop was going for the hand, not the head.
His foot ends up on the hand and pulls the hand away from the head. It so happens that the hand was next to the head at the time.
Kicking him the head would be an emotional act and possibly followed by more emotional acts such as another kick to the head.
I would bet there is more to this. I remember a video that showed a cop with a perp over the hood of a car that was beating the cuffed perp with a nightstick. Everyone went nuts. What we didn’t see was the perps cuffed hands behind his back, clutching the cops scrotum.
I agree. As we know, video can and DOES lie.
It's also 'entirely possible" - if the writer had read/watched the entire episode - that since the 'suspect' turned out to be a totally innocent person, which the cops treated REAL decent after that fact was made known - (cover butt) - that he was not a GANG MEMBER - therefore unlikely giving a signal for a bullet!
Lousy, irresponsible writing.
as irresponsible as FR commentators who take the post as gospel w/o checking it out - after all, every word posted here goes onto the WWW - FOR-EVER
Was the suspect resisting a lawful arrest? If so then the cop shouldn’t be prosecuted for doing his job. Maybe the next time the perp has a run-in with the cops he will be more respectful.
PLEASE stop opining until you watch the whole video
(It puts FR in a bad light - makes us look like a bunch of nattering nabobs)
I think he was released because they had the wrong guy.
I KNOW WHAT THE MEX POLICE ARE...I do not care what happens to mex scum by the US police!.
And you know that these were "mex scum" how exactly? Are you some kind of fortune teller, or clairvoyant? If so, could you please lay on us this week's PowerBall numbers?
