Former Alaska GOP Gov. Sarah Palin's endorsement of Carly Fiorina in California's Senate race has prompted a fervent blowback on her Facebook page, long Palin's safe haven for delivering her message.
The revolt is coming from Palin supporters who also back Chuck DeVore a tea party favorite who is campaigning against Fiorina in the Republican primary.
Palins Facebook page is littered with comments opposing her endorsement of Fiorina, the former CEO of Hewlett Packard.
The only REAL CONSERVATIVE is Chuck DeVore. Fiorina is a RINO and we don't need any more of those in [California], one irate commenter wrote. Why wouldn't you back Chuck DeVore???
Sorry Sarah but I think Chuck DeVore is the conservative candidate you should be supporting, added another, who was followed up by a DeVore supporter who wrote: I don't agree with this endorsement AT ALL! What are you thinking Sarah?

and I will go out on my usual limb and say that women here are the bigger offenders of this "possessiveness of the candidate"
they get like this cult of personality thing going and brook no dissent regardless
they did with Bush too...bigtime...that was gasoline for the harpie’s fire here back in the day even when Bush was unfortunately screwing up
now Sarah whom I support and have since I firs noticed her has backed both Queeg and Carly whom I don't care for
I guess I gather her logic or loyalty but I don't like it
she speaks of ideology and purity and then acts Machiavellian
oh well
but she is open to criticism same as anybody...it's fair game
The pattern here sadly is my way or the highway. Practicality need not apply.
Yea, and how is that hope and change stuff working out for ya?
We will just have to see. This has been a bitter and divisive battle and at some point someone is going to have to think about the future.
Would Fiorina be an improvement over Boxer?
Before we get too carried away with “McClintock”, let’s remember that he barely, just barely won his Congressional district in 2008...in Placer County, no less, and you can’t find a more reliably conservative district.
I like Chuck DeVore, but he can’t cut it, and I’m not into that suicide vote thingy.
Doesn’t make sense. Why defend Palin’s endorsement and then vote for the other candidate? I might be missing something here since I’m not from California.
How would you purport to nationalize a republican primary in California?
What does that have to do with it ? I dont live in Kenya and I still know Obama Is a Marxist
I think You just let us Know
Nice resume. Some here wonder why, if Palin is supporting Fiorina because she has a better chance of winning than DeVore, she is not supporting Campbell, who has the best chance of winning. They should realize that Palin would never support someone who is pro-abortion and pro-gay marriage and not totally strong on our alliance with Israel.
“How would you purport to nationalize a republican primary in California?”
Money
i agree. and i am a woman. the do or die loyalty to all too human POLITICIANS [because let’s not forget exactly what they are]is ridiculous. It leads to ludicrous flame wars on FR by the constituent parties.
You have hardly answered all of SoCal’s statements in post 230. Copying text from Wikipedia is OK, I guess, but you have not responded to all the charges.
We don’t need an anti-Israel senator in 2010. I haven’t noticed, either, that the two parties try to outdo each other in support for Israel, as you state in a reply above.
I believe your post accurately describes Palin’s reason for her endorsement.
mentioned you in reply above
On the other hand, there is also:
Michelle Bachmann
Doug Hoffman
Marco Rubio
Allen West
Maybe Sarah believes that Chuck has no chance of winning and that of Fiorina and Campbell, the former is the more palatable.
Just my two cents and I appreciate you standing up for Gov. P on all the threads but we have to hold her accountable as well.
The first rule of governing is that you have to win in order to do anything.
I was pretty disappointed when I first saw this endorsement. Then I found out that DeVore's campaign has pretty much cratered, and there was no point endorsing him -- indeed, it would have had a negative impact. Still can't say I'm thrilled about the endorsement, but in the end, I'll take the Carly Fiorinas and Scott Browns from places like California and Massachusetts, as long as we continue to get the Demints and Rubios from places like South Carolina and Florida.
Thank you for pointing that out.
Look. DeVore can’t win his primary, much less the General. He is sucking wind at 13.6%. Politicians who do this are toxic in the General. That is why Palin endorsed Fiorina.
California is in deep trouble. That is why Palin endorsed Carly. Campbell it toxic and DeVore never made the sale.
Best,
Chris
