I wonder if it might not be a case (deliberate or not) where after a few of these failed bomb attempts, the gov comes out and says we need to relax the DHS focus on terrorists, because they just aren’t competent enough to be successful.
The failed attacks may desensitize the public just a little bit to a succesful attack. And when one is succesful, no-one will ‘question the timing’.
