Party has halted three attempts to start debate on Democrats’ bill
WASHINGTON - Senate Republicans are prepared to end their stalling tactics on new banking regulations and will attempt to change the bill on the Senate floor, Republican officials said.

It's not BS. The story has just been confirmed by NRO. Apparently, McConnell and Shelby have just released statements.
The GOP is full of progressives in the same mold as any democrat.
McConnel could have made them read the health care bill on the senate floor but didn’t. So no one knew what was in the bill.
They are all in league to finish us off and take away all of our freedoms.
And to think all that needs to happen is the BC issue be resolved.
Okay, then, let’s try to understand what they are saying before we go into hysterics. We’re talking a complicated issue where some reform and (that ugly word) regulation is needed. Btw, back in 2000, the Dems were voting AGAINST this very regulation... it gets interesting.
And now it’s 2010, and we are a less free people than we were just 18 months ago. This bill is one more chipping away at our liberties; one more overreaching by the feds. And the PR statehood, and crap and tax, and net neutrality and the list goes on and on and on. Every Chuck you Schumer wants the FTC to regulate Facebook for God’s sake!
Every day is one more battle. And the ones who are supposed to be on our side are a bunch of pussies.

Why in the world would Shelby, or anyone else, take Chris Dodd's word for anything, much less his word that problems will be addressed. The Dems can now jam through anything that they want, and they've proven that this is precisely what they'll indeed do.

Just called Shelby’s office, Shelby and McConnell do not support the bill, all negotiations have stopped, the bill will not go to the floor because there is no confidence that the Dems will allow any amendments (despite promises) to pass. If you still believe me call Shelby’s office yourself and you’ll hear the same thing.

I just called his DC office, and two other Alabama Offices, and they said it was going to the floor!
I was also hung-up on at each office i called! I guess they’re getting bobmbarded with calls...good!
I understand that may be what Shelby's office is saying, but McConnel is the Leader, and his office has put out a statement to the contrary. And according the The Daily Caller, they posted this about Shelby at 4:45...
“I thank my Republican colleagues for their support and defer to their individual judgments on whether the Senate begins a floor debate on this bill,” he said in his e-mailed statement.
The GOP: selling us out one freedom at a time. :)
She read me the statement, they are not letting the bill go to the floor.
