Obama's Civilian National Security Force
American Thinker ^ | July 20, 2008 | Lee Cary

Posted on 03/29/2010 10:14:39 PM PDT by george76

Barack Obama's recent words to promote his image as Community Organizer in Chief were not about forming a paramilitary force of volunteer brown shirts. They were about turning America into one, giant, community organizer's sandbox at enormous cost to taxpayers.

Senator Obama was nearly 17 minutes into his July 2 speech ... in Colorado Springs, Colorado when he deviated from his pre-released script and performed without the teleprompter net saying,

"We cannot continue to rely on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives that we've set. We've got to have a civilian national security force that's just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded."

his call to community service "will be a central cause of my presidency."

The entire plan is breathtaking in its scope. But it does not, as at least one internet writer has suggested, portend a "giant police force." It would be easier to rebut if it did. As it is, it's silly stuff born of naively fanciful dreams.

He plans to double the Peace Corps' budget by 2011, and expand AmeriCorps, USA Freedom Corps, VISTA, YouthBuild Program, and the Senior Corps. Plus, he proposes to form a Classroom Corps, Health Corps, Clean Energy Corps, Veterans Corps, Homeland Security Corps, Global Energy Corps, and a Green Jobs Corps. Here a corps - there a corps - everywhere a corps corps.

Rather ironic that a president who can't correctly pronounce corps wants to create a thousand and one of them.

I was in a discusion about this today.. I said “Obama would rather spend 100’s of Billions of our money on his own Civilian Security Force.. and FEMA camps (than on our Military)! And the person responded with.. “Ready Reserves Corp is his civilian security force & it’s the law of the land via ObamaCare Bill.”

He's confused. Must be thinking about more shovel ready jobs.

Obama Care apparently provides funding for his internal army.

I am still looking for a link.

In Peter Fritzsche book 'The Life and Death of the Third Reich' the first chapter, “Reviving the Nation,” shows how cleverly Nazism was inserted into the lives of ordinary Germans, converting contentious citizens into racial comrades. Indeed, Fritzsche uses the word “conversion” quite often, denoting the life-changing experience of becoming Nazi. Such conversions were best effected through indoctrination in communal settings at the local level, supplemented by party propaganda transmitted in print and on radio. At the same time, the Party’s monopoly of most aspects of life—education, recreation, jobs, and opportunities for advancement—persuaded the more reluctant that “to get along, you had to go along.” National Socialism, Fritzsche reminds us, “combined populism, racism, and nationalism in a youthful, energetic way” (16). It was dynamic; it looked toward a better and brighter future; it exalted the strong and the young; it called for “strength through joy.” A revival of youthful communal energy, the Nazis believed, would negate their own “macabre premonitions of German death.” Yet, in seeking to secure Germany’s future,“The Nazis delivered upon their enemies the very destruction they imagined awaited Germans”

From a review by Review by William J. Astore, Pennsylvania College of Technology (wastore@pct.edu).

Does this seem familiar?

“The entire plan is breathtaking in its scope.”

“Plan”? It isn’t a plan, it’s a nightmare, like everything else this idiot blathers about. It’s a glorified bumper-sticker-depth piece of gobbledygook rhetoric. Typical of what we get from the PPMIC (Prompter-powered Marxist in Chief)

That doesn’t mean that his apparatchiks aren’t drooling over the possibility of enacting his goofball slogans into the new 0bamareality. That’s the dangerous part of having an out of control idealogue in charge.

Pssh! Obama is just a dreamer/talker, I forget where I read he was a chitty community organizer, I don’t have a handy link for that but I’m certain of the article.

Even the photos of him hanging curtains or painting rooms, shows he doesn’t know how to do manual labor.

We’ve also read (and I believe it) he didn’t write his own book and Michelle was about sick of him and his money hole from trying his hand at politics.

Obama is the type that would follow somebody that is working all around— chatting them up, he lacks a work ethic.

I much blame Oprah for Obama, I can recall her carrying on and on about Obama early on, waaaay before his presidential run.

Obama is another Dr.Phil, Rachael Ray...Oprah made.

Obama is the reflection of a worlds sickness, the cult of personality over anything of real substance and thought...a shedding of values for group think and logo.

They’re building a better consumer, not a better product.

He’s a gimmick on late-night TV.

There's stuff in that bill that are yet to be disclosed to the populace. The longer it's hidden, the quicker the 'change'.

The signs are evident though, Flash Riots, crackdowns on militias and a mega smear on the Tea Parties for racist and homophobic remarks and actions that never happened.

It's Orwellian and it's here.

Exempting union members from the so-called “Cadillac tax” on expensive health insurance policies, while imposing that tax on other citizens, is outright discrimination according to Napolitano.

“The government cannot draw a bright line, with fidelity to the Constitution and the law, on the one side of which everybody pays, and the other side of which some people pay.

It can’t say, ‘Here’s a tax, but we’re only going to apply it to nonunion people. Here’s a tax, and we’re only going to apply it to graduates of Ivy League institutions.’ The Constitution does not permit that type of discrimination.”

Agreed down the line.

Only thing I would add is that he is a symptom not a cause.
