Simplemindedly NEVER holding the GOP accountable is why they are a liberal party now.
For some, they could completely mirror the Democrat agenda and they’d still get a pass. In fact, they could run OBAMA as the candidate and still get a pass and we’d still be told to vote for him....
They would even do that for Nancy Pelosi, too, if she went GOP....and tell us later “I didnt vote for Pelosi....I voted for Harry Reid”

Perhaps they are trying to preserve entitlements and the rest of the trappings of big government, instead of the principals of our Founding. So, they are “conservatives” in a way. ;) Just not our definition.
