Elitist Enviro-Hypocrisy: Harrison Ford's Cheeseburger Runs

This was the most dispiriting PSA ever. Watching Indiana Jones, Jack Ryan and Han Solo have his chest waxed for rain forest awareness was like catching your dad dressed in your mom’s clothes.

There just isn’t enough therapy.

And now we discover Ford’s just another elitist Hollywood hypocrite whose concern over “the tons of carbon” the rest of us emit into the atmosphere doesn’t apply to him.

LOl, they were attractive enough for him I guess.

You missed the point. The issue isn’t about Harrison Ford’s freedom to buy what ever he wishes with his own money. Hats off to the guy. That’s one of the liberties we enjoy in this country.

The issues is Mr. Chest Wax telling us little, common folk that we should foot the bill for “environmental impact” policy while he leaves a pretty friggin’ big one of his own.

After yrs. of Harrison free viewing, we rented the last Indiana Jones. It was a complete waste of time.

If he wishes to spend his cash on buying off natives, or “environmental research studies”, be my guest, but keep your liberal padded policies off of my hard earned money.

Yes, to each his own. There wasn’t much to “read” into. The film in and of itself was a quality piece, but as I previously mentioned, in some sense, the film reminds me of Pleasantville.

Blade Runner was the best. It and Witness are really the only two times he has ever attempted credible acting.

His bedding Ms. Flockhart simply underscores the lack of taste that also plagues his picking of roles.

Bladerunner is the only Harrison Ford film I’ll gladly watch.

Guess I missed the press release where he chided me for my wasteful ways. Lots of stars want to tell me how to live my life, I was not aware he was one of them. I tend to tune out Hollywood hypocrisy.

Although you missed the “press release” (apparently I did as well), you ventured to voice a comment without all the facts, hence the:

“If you don’t like HF’s lifestyle...”

It wasn’t about the lifestyle, but I guess if you’re too prideful to admit to missing the point, and acting as if you don’t care about these issues and “tend to tune out”, despite the fact that you’ve been tuning in here, it’s your prerogative.

Again, you missed the point. It’s your tax money as well, unless, of course, your don’t mind that sort of legal plunder.

You know, I find your making an ass of yourself is far more entertaining than HF’s lifestyle. I think I’ll drive an SUV to the drive-thru and enjoy a cheeseburger while reading your comments. Thanks

Bladerunner> Harrison Ford, Rutger Hauer, Daryll Hannah, Sean Young (WOW), and Edward James Olmos.

Hope to meet Olmos this summer at a Scifi convention (a very talented actor). Sean Young sent me several signs photos and cards. You’ve got to see her when she was in Bladerunner, Stripes and No Exit. Now that is one gorgeous woman. Great hair, eyes, lips, everything.

For kids, she and William Katt were in “Baby” about dinosaurs. A cute little movie.

Harrison was good in Star Wars and the first Indiana Jones. Sean Connery stole the scene in the third one. The second one belonged to the young Vietnamese boy.

Witness: good police flix. He also did well in a movie about a prosecutor whose wife (Anne Archer) kills a woman who he was involved with.

Air Force One. Pretty good.

“Clear and Present Danger” - okay. Some stupidly written scenes. Same for the sequal.

After that, it has been largely down hill.

Bet that chest wax hurt.

I don’t usually care enough about actors to be impressed or be let down by them. I have to admit, though, that Ford has been a disappointment. Aside from his acting (which I liked), I always thought of him as a standup guy. He raised his kids away from the Hollywood lifestyle, and was always very discreet about his politics. I can even remember him being very reticent to discuss his political views on Letterman or Conan (think it was Letterman) some years back.

All of this took place before he dumped his wife for the waif, of course.

Must be Harrison Ford we are talking about.

Obama doesn't need to fly his 747 anywhere to get a meal...(kudos to Potlatch)

If he wants to fly somewhere to get a cheeseburger, more power to him. Private pilots call that “The 100 Dollar Cheeseburger”, and it’s sort of a weekend ritual for those that have small planes.

But everyone is sick of the holier than thou hypocrisy of Hollywood air heads. I sure as hell don’t need someone that lives in a 20,000 sq. ft. house telling ME to turn down the thermostat in my 900 sq.ft. condo to save the planet.

Hannah’s a decent actress, though not exceptional. We’ve seen her in Baby. An amusing film. Splash was funny, and Steel Magnolias was tiresome due to it’s typical liberal puffery.

We’ve seen most of Harrison Ford’s films, including The Devil’s Own and Henry (his second best to Bladerunner, in my view). I have concluded that Harrison Ford generally plays Harrison Ford, and he plays himself very well.

I agree. Frankly, I love the idea that in our country people have a relatively fair chance at making a go of it and becoming financially rich, and then learning how to fly and buying a plane. On top of that, after buying your own plane with your riches, you have the freedom to fly the bugga to go fetch a cheeseburger, of all things. That’s beautiful.

To to have some liberal Hollywood elitist hypocrite require the ave. Joe to pony up for his “causes” is not something I find the least bit amusing.

Trust me, you can get much worse than Harrison Ford in Hollywood. Much, much worse.

No kidding. You have that right. Normally, I don’t go after people on the basis of their peccadilloes, but with him I make an exception.

He and his party are doing their best to deconstruct this country and destroy the framework of all I hold dear. I will use every weapon against them I can, including ridicule.
