My main beef with the Beckster is how loosely he throws around the phrase “Republicans are JUST AS BAD as the Democrats.”

As bad as they are (and I’m an Independent), they’re the only thing standing between our current state of misery and TOTAL FASCISM.

Exactly. And the faults are not of the Republican Party but with Republican and conservative voters. LA Times had an article last week on how the Tea Party is taking over the GOP from the inside. In precinct after precinct 60%, 70% even 80% of the precinct committee slots were empty. These are the people who write the platform, elect county leaders and often endorse candidates. Vegas had 200 precinct committee members a year ago. Now it has 1000. That is what has to be done all over the country. The command center is not occupied. All conservatives have to do is walk in and seize it.

LA TIMES: 'Tea party' activists filter into GOP at ground level

Which is why those of us who have the conviction to get off the fence and register with a party — like the Republican Party — have to work to clean up their party and right now MY party, the Republican Party, is a shiftless finger in the wind party.... Independents are not a party.

Have you read he Book America For Sale by Corsi? In his book, among other things, he discusses the notion of One World Govt with the UN in charge..in his book he points out that the democrats are globalists and some Republicans are also but for different reasons.
I don’ think Beck was painting the whole republican party as at fault but let’s face it, many of us here were screaming our heads off about Bush and the spending going on there despite the fact we respected Bush as a good and decent man. I think this is the message Beck was trying to get out. His comparison to Tiger was interesting.

No, actually, the Democrats themselves are (or were). Unless you count the conservative members of SCOTUS as Republicans (which they aren’t, really). Dems had 60 votes. Republicans were irrelevant, except insofar as they stood together and forced the Dems to have to use all their votes.

Various angry old people and a few “blue dogs” recently stood between us and fascism, not Republicans.

"just as bad"

The problem with Beck's phrase "just as bad" is that it's an outright lie. Virtually all Pubbies have opposed Obama's grandiose, socialist spending plans. I'd like to ask Beck how does close to one hundred opposition to Obama's increased spending make them the same? Sure, criticism of past overspending by Pubbies is thoroughly warranted. But when he tries to make the claim that both parties are the same, he's off his rocker.

By the way, I like Beck. It's just that success has gone to his head a tad. Add to that: nobody is right about everything.
