Stopped reading here - blatantly incorrect fact calling the entire article and the author's reasoning ability into question. I can't believe the Hoover Institution, home of Dr. Thomas Sowell, would allow such to be printed.

Yes, Munley is a cop and not an Army Sargeant so I guess that invalidates the entire piece as well as calls into question all of reality.

This makes about as much sense as your objection:

Having the facts straight when you use them as a basis for opinion/argument is a fairly basic concept. Did that concept muss your hair when it whizzed by in school one day?

I'm just so glad I can join such Internet brilliance as youself in witty repartee, complete with illustrations, even!

Back to the article: I basically agree with the author as concerns the military, single women with children serving, and women serving in general. The Heinlein quote noted by another poster is pretty much in step with my view. The sociological research noted by the author also supports that view. The cook that was discharged for failing to comply with Family Care Plan regulations was treated very lightly, IMO.
