Scott Brown: Hey, Maybe Barack Obama Was Born Out of Wedlock

Democratic candidate Martha Coakley’s Senate campaign in Massachusetts has given up every news cycle this week to a self-inflicted blunder — a fact the National Republican Senatorial Committee happily pointed out to reporters on Friday. But the liberal BlueMassGroup blog has found a video that reflects rather poorly on GOP candidate Scott Brown, in which he joshes with a TV reporter, in 2008, about whether Barack Obama was born out of wedlock.

Desperation time for Coakley I think. Because he was wasn't he? Isn't that part of the Obama story, unwed single mother, etc.

From all I’ve read about this subject, it seems pretty clear that the parents were unmarried at the time of conception. So I would say that Brown was technically correct.

Zero was indeed born out of wedlock. The marriage between Stanley Ann and BHO, Sr. was bigamous and therefore invalid. BHO was married to at least one other woman back in the old country.

This was from 2008. My guess is that he was defending Sarah Palin from an attack on Bristol’s unwed teen motherhood. If so, that really changes the nature and tone of what he was saying.
