Sounds like they were playing high stakes poker with the lender, and the lender called their bluff. A liquidating 11 to at least get the trucks back to reasonable locations would have been to the benefit of the lender and the drivers. Or petitioning a court to appoint a Receiver.
In fact, it’s hard to figure a worse way that this could have been handled from either the company or the lender side.
