Post 235

Top of the day, Miss Marple

My post was somewhat tongue in check, you took it completely serious and posted all the obstacles. No criticism to you but this mindset is why the Republicans continue to loose, sometimes I wonder if that is not their aim.

It they don’t show up, which they probably won’t, then they (Republicans) use the hearing to focus attention on the subject/subjects of the hearing, force them to respond. The Democrats use these techniques effectively to influence the public, the Republicans can to.. and they can present the truth, the Democrats can’t.

They can use the Internet and talk radio to generate buzz (just give them something to discuss/ talk about) then let it “spill over” to the DBM, determination/persistence and strategic thinking will allow them to get their information out. If news is generated it will be covered, even by the DBM, (who may try to minimize/ridicule it), when it is people responding to media inquiries must be forceful and informed.

Make a Democrat refusal to accocate space as difficult and public as possible, then choose an alternate location if necessary.

NOTHING VENTURED, NOTHING GAINED.

Some days I am humor-impaired, which is why I took your post seriously.

My point is that we shouldn’t waste time with futile efforts.

If the Congressional GOP tries to set up a rogue hearing somewhere, they will have no witnesses and will be mocked by the media. “Pretending they’re in power, sour grapes, delusional, conspiracy theorists, etc.” will be heard in the media.

Instead, the information needs to be out there by other means. I am hopeful of the internet, because more people are going to it than used to do so. Glenn Beck is also getting information out.

Sadly, I have noticed that when our guys try to hold press conferences, they are ignored. And they hardly ever get spots on the Sunday shows, except for Fox. In fact, I think Fox is the only channel that has invited Inhofe for several years.

That’s why it is so important to get information out through blogs, web sites, Beck, talk radio, word of mouth.
It’s very hard, but we cannot give up. And if the Congressional Republicans would spend some time thinking of new ways to make news and get on TV, maybe they could get the message out, too.
