You have got to be kiddng me with the Columbine/Darwin reference. Please tell me you’re kidding.
I do agree that Harris and Klebold weren’t bullied and were in some cases the bully.
But to blame their actions on natural selection, or rather their interpretation of Natural Selection, is ludicrous, imo. Harris and Klebold showed many signs of screwed up kids...ignored by their parents it seems...but many kids are behind the eight ball and don’t have perfect upbringings so to speak. They don’t plan to kill as many of their peers as possible, they don’t plan to cause carnage in their high school and kill innocent people. Harris and Klebold were nuts, nasty, evil people who set out to murder their peers and teachers and anyone else who got in the way of their plan.
No doubt there were signs that were ignored by their parents, school admin/teachers,peers, and cops.
The only thing Harris’s journal showed was that this kid was messed up.
Darwinism, unchecked or otherwise, had nothing to do with what Harris and Klebold did to their classmates and community. If Harris and Klebold were so called right wing or fundamentalist Christians, would you still think their murdering, executing really, their classmates was based on their religious beliefs? Or that their religious beliefs came them the pass or reason to murder innocent people?
Harris and Klebold were two very screwed up people, teens. They are to blame for their actions. Lots of people don’t live perfect lives and they don’t go murdering people for the fun of it.
You are of course welcome to your opinion, but the extensive writings that Eric Harris left behind leave no doubt that he viewed Natural Selection as all the justification he needed to do what he did. In fact, he chose to wear a shirt that said "Natural Selection" on April 20. In many cases, those words, "Natural Selection" were probably the last thing that some of the murdered kids saw.
