this whole idea that somehow a rancher is going to put up all sorts of electronic equipment all over his land is simply out of touch with what really is possible.

Really? According to the article at link, one of the ranchers has a herd of 80 and the latest mutilatee was found by the concrete troughs beyond a locked gate -- and there's a next-door neighbor -- and it's happened before. But they're speculating about aliens from outer space, while I am out of touch with what's really possible; like surveillance equipment.
