Scientists Back Off of Ardi Claims (Evos give climate-hoaxers a run for their money...LOL!)
ICR News ^ | December 4, 2009 | Brian Thomas, M.S.

In May 2009, a remarkably well-preserved extinct primate, nicknamed “Ida,” was hailed as one of the most important fossil finds ever. It had features that some interpreted as a link between two primate body forms. At the time, ICR News suggested that its evolutionary significance was far overblown, predicting that the scientific consensus would offer retractions. Those retractions came three months later, confirming that the fossil―called Darwinius―was really just an extinct lemur variety...

Which scriptures?

The Scriptures (the Hebrew Bible had been long established by the time this letter was written to the Corinthians)....When the Apostle Paul wrote this to the church at Corinth, his audience knew exactly what he meant and what was being referred to. Old Testaments prophets, like Isaiah and the psalmists, foretold of Christ's death on the cross as a payment for sin (Isaiah 53) and also foretold of His resurrection (Psalm 2).

Luke makes this clear in Acts 13 when it is stated:

26"Brothers, children of Abraham, and you God-fearing Gentiles, it is to us that this message of salvation has been sent. 27The people of Jerusalem and their rulers did not recognize Jesus, yet in condemning him they fulfilled the words of the prophets that are read every Sabbath.

28Though they found no proper ground for a death sentence, they asked Pilate to have him executed. 29When they had carried out all that was written about him, they took him down from the tree and laid him in a tomb. 30But God raised him from the dead, 31and for many days he was seen by those who had traveled with him from Galilee to Jerusalem. They are now his witnesses to our people. 32"We tell you the good news: What God promised our fathers 33he has fulfilled for us, their children, by raising up Jesus. As it is written in the second Psalm: " 'You are my Son; today I have become your Father.[b]'[c] 34The fact that God raised him from the dead, never to decay, is stated in these words: " 'I will give you the holy and sure blessings promised to David.'[d]

35So it is stated elsewhere: " 'You will not let your Holy One see decay.'[e] 36"For when David had served God's purpose in his own generation, he fell asleep; he was buried with his fathers and his body decayed. 37But the one whom God raised from the dead did not see decay. 38"Therefore, my brothers, I want you to know that through Jesus the forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you. 39Through him everyone who believes is justified from everything you could not be justified from by the law of Moses. 40Take care that what the prophets have said does not happen to you: 41" 'Look, you scoffers, wonder and perish, for I am going to do something in your days that you would never believe, even if someone told you.'[f]"

Christ's resurrection is central to the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to the Christian faith.

There are plenty out there you’re just too lazy to look.

Laziness does not enter into the picture.

Who else but an evo would demand that the secular concerns of the Christian Right be banished to the religion forum? Are you saying that you are not someone who believes that random mutations plus natural selection are reponsible for the diversity of life?

“Of course. I was a school-boy at the time I was describing my thoughts.”

I see... you did answer my points you just spread it out to be annoying. Mission accomplished.

That was exactly my point... you were a school boy. I was told a lot of crap when I was a kid by a lot of ignorant adults but I grew up and had to use my brain for myself. Some of those adults meant well (some did not) but had chosen to live in ignorance instead of actively seeking the truth. I am bothering to seek the truth.

You are obviously not. Like I said... let me know if that changes.

"If you want to expand your role as the protective big sister to your posse I'll give you a chance to define a transitional fossil. (hint: real scientists use phylogenetic taxonomy and morphological data matrices. Something more specific than *That dog don't hunt* with numbers and coefficients would be nice.)"

Still waiting for an answer.......

“So your position is that the direct admonition of “beleveth in him” is not enough, eh? You insist on adding “beleveth in the bible” - Sorry, I never read that anywhere...”

So your belief that the Bible can be cherry-picked doesn’t somehow exclude the verse that contains the words, “believeth on Him”? I’ll play your game. Let’s just choose for ourselves out of thin air which verses are to be believed and which are not.

That’s my point. It’s either all the truth or it’s all to be taken into question. You can’t have it both ways. And yes, there are admonitions on the truth of the Word of God contained within the Word of God, but then you get into the argument of who assembled the Bible. Either way, we could argue it until the cows come home.

I choose to believe the Bible and you choose to believe portions that uphold your particular view of whom you want God to be. I’m satisfied that I know where you’re coming from unless you can enlighten me.

I never demanded anything. I do not purport to decide where any thread goes. I browse based on latest posts so I don't even know where a thread is posted. All I ever said was that the content of the article, the criteria posted by you to determine the location of a thread, and your locating the thread in News/Activism did not match. Now, if from that you think you can determine my philosophical and religious beliefs, why not simply perform a miracle or two and show yourself to be the prophet you must be.

Why not?

Because believing in a Jesus that is only a great moral teacher is just a false religious belief. That Jesus is like the unkown god, in Athens, in the Apostle Paul's day. This is what Paul said to the Athenians about their false belief (Acts 17):

22 Then Paul stood up at the Areopagus and said: 6 "You Athenians, I see that in every respect you are very religious. 23 For as I walked around looking carefully at your shrines, I even discovered an altar inscribed, 'To an Unknown God.' 7 What therefore you unknowingly worship, I proclaim to you. 24 The God who made the world and all that is in it, the Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in sanctuaries made by human hands,

25 nor is he served by human hands because he needs anything. Rather it is he who gives to everyone life and breath and everything. 26 He made from one 8 the whole human race to dwell on the entire surface of the earth, and he fixed the ordered seasons and the boundaries of their regions, 27 so that people might seek God, even perhaps grope for him and find him, though indeed he is not far from any one of us. 28 For 'In him we live and move and have our being,' 9 as even some of your poets have said, 'For we too are his offspring.' 29 Since therefore we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the divinity is like an image fashioned from gold, silver, or stone by human art and imagination.

30 God has overlooked the times of ignorance, but now he demands that all people everywhere repent 31 because he has established a day on which he will 'judge the world with justice' through a man he has appointed, and he has provided confirmation for all by raising him from the dead." 32 When they heard about resurrection of the dead, some began to scoff, but others said, "We should like to hear you on this some other time." 33 And so Paul left them. 34 But some did join him, and became believers. Among them were Dionysius, a member of the Court of the Areopagus, a woman named Damaris, and others with them.

“And to think, unlike Creationists and IDers, those who subscribe to Darwin’s evo-atheist creation myth could not see this coming a mile a way.”

—What is the “this”? That there might be *one* scientist (Jungers) not fully convinced that Ardi is bipedal? Umm, I doubt anyone is surprised that there isn’t 100% consensus. Instead, there is only an overwhelming majority of scientists in agreement that Ardi is bipedal.

The article had a strange title: “Scientists Back Off of Ardi Claims”. It made it sound like the article would be about scientists backing off their original claims of Ardi - when the article didn’t even attempt to display such a thing.

That is your problem. If the story of Jonah in the whale is not true, your lose all your faith and cannot worship the Bible anymore.

Well there was your first mistake. You expected something truthful from Less (Godless, Gunless, Gutless).
