So then is it time for an idealogy litmus matrix on Free Republic? Not so we can impose any particular idealogy, but so it is simply out in the open.
“Not so we can impose any particular ideology”
You can’t and I can’t, but on Freerepublic Jim can...
It’s not so much as a ideological litmus test as it is not accepting any of the deal breaking issues.
Leading into the last election, there were a lot of people here who were so concerned about She-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named that they lost their minds with worry. So much so that they supported McCain and Rudy because they believed the MSM storied that these were the only ones who could beat her. Well, you see how that worked out for us.
Now we’re being told that the best we have are Huck and Mitt. Huck has his own brand of President Bush’s “compassionate conservatism” that won’t work any better than the first version. And don’t forget that Mitt supported state run health care in Massachusetts that isn’t significantly different from the bills we’re opposing in the US Congress today.
We’ve got to be careful about who we support. Rinos get us nowhere. But the conservative message of self reliance and less government works EVERY time it’s tried.
Call it what you will, but I've seen a few on here really pushing hard a partyline. As a conservative that has had to put up with a corrupted system and a career RINO as my representative, I am of the party of Hell No. The accusations of splitting the "blessed GOP" or a seat going to Democrats is a lame argument already.
Yeah, and there is already a Republican litmus test out in the open. Actually a relatively decent litmus test is written every four years at the RNC national convention. Any Republican who can't support Republican-written, Republican-approved Republican platform is clearly a RINO.
I don't know what definition of RINO Jim Robinson is thinking of, but this one is a good start. I do know that this is a Conservative site, not Republican, and so the Republican Platform is merely a start. But given how many leaders it would out as RINO/CINOs, it's a real good start.
(Bob Dole: "Who reads the platform?")
I missed this yesterday - now I have to read the whole thread.
