that approach allows Jindal to stay in line with Republicans against the healthcare bill, but still collects the cash Landrieu put in it for Louisiana.

That's how the game has been played for decades.

When the Pubbies are in control, the Dems still get a share. When the Dems are in control, the Pubbies still get a share.

Those 'back room' and 'liquid lunch' get-togethers are more bi-partisan than most would ever care to admit.

Yeah, so far, Jindal has been incredibly disappointing in terms of potential for national office. Bad speech on tv, and serial bad decisions on national issues.

He did raise an "Oh my god" out of Chris Matthews right before his Republican response speech.

Jindal has been getting influenced from the left since his BBQ with McCain before Mc selected his VP running mate.

Jindal needs to return to his conservative agenda, if he's looking for a second term of govenor of La.

Jindal is one of very few Republicans invited to a state dinner at the White House tonite. If he in fact influenced Landrieux re. the healthcare vote, one would conclude his rising star has fallen to the ground.

****ARE YOU KIDDING ME???***

Me bad! Do we know precisely what, or how Jindal asked of Landrieu? I was trying to make the point that all 50 State Governors are obligated to monitor what the Federal Gubmint is doing with their State taxpayers’ money. It seems to me that Jindal was simply reminding Landrieu how much Medicaid funding his State was in the red (apropos the Federal Medicaid program)

Sorry if I was obtuse or ill informed.

It’s one thing for the governor of a state to request that state’s senator to seek additional Medicaid funding. It’s something quite different to go after that funding at the expense of undermining the Nation’s medical system. I highly doubt Jindal asked Landrieu for the latter.

So, before we all jump on the Jindal-is-a-worthless-RINO bandwagon, how about we get to know the facts first?

The longer Bobby does not address the issue the worse it gets for his side of the argument.

You may be right. That’s not how I understood the situation. And, if that is what was happening, Jindal needs to be far more direct in what his intentions were.

It peeved me because it just sounded like both were asking for some kickbacks.

“The longer Bobby does not address the issue the worse it gets for his side of the argument.”

I agree. He needs to tell his side of the story pronto.

As expected after yesterday’s cloture vote, Cass Sunstein was confirmed as the administrator of the White House Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs. The vote was 57-40. Click here to read OMB Watch’s statement on the confirmation.

The vote fell mostly somewhat along party lines. Republican senators Robert Bennett (UT), Orrin Hatch (UT), Susan Collins (ME), Richard Lugar (IN), Olympia Snowe (ME), and George Voinovich joined 51 Democrats (including Sen. Joe Lieberman) in voting for Sunstein. Democratic senators Mark Begich (AK), Blanche Lincoln (AR), Ben Nelson (NE), Mark Pryor (AR), Jim Webb (VA), independent Bernie Sanders (VT), and 34 Republicans voted against.

Sen. Robert Byrd (D-WV) and Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-CA) did not vote.

Sunstein’s nomination grew more and more controversial after the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee approved it on May 20. The Committee approved the nomination by voice vote, and only Sen. Tom Coburn (R-OK) objected. Committee members Pryor, John McCain (R-AZ), John Ensign (R-NV), and Lindsey Graham (R-SC) all voted against Sunstein this time around.

Both.

Bobby Jindal was born here 4-months after his parents arrived. They hadn’t yet become naturalized citizens (status was as permanent resident aliens), so Bobby Jindal is native born. If Obama was truly born in Hawaii, then so would he be native born but with dual citizenship as his father was a British subject. Neither is eligible to be President of the U.S.A. per Article 2 of the U.S.Constitution.
