Don’t be foolish. As a prior resident of New Orleans, I can tell you he was “allowed” to vote that way once the dims had the votes needed +1, if it had been a close vote he would not have been allowed to be the vote to give them victory.

Repub leadership held him back until his vote was no longer needed. This gives him cover next year when he needs to get reelected in a largely minority city.

Yours is the best, and most politically expedient, explanation of Caos actions I’ve seen on this thread so far.

Its all about the politics.

If we had the Ny23 vote and maybe this would been close Cao would have voted against it.

It is rather silly to blame Cao for it.

This is a lesson for those who backed third party candidates.
