No, misconception, maybe out of a FN90, but their is an appreciable loss of muzzle velocity from the pistol barrel. The particular round was designed as a smg/carbine round for European battlefields ,that could penetrate the body armor of the 90s. FN Pistol FN90 and FS2000(5.56)

In the 80’s in the 82nd that was a no. We weren’t trusted by our ‘command’. In Group, that was a no, but we were expected to disobey it and not get caught by anyone outside of Group. That was trust, up and down the line.
