The first reports said he was a convert to Islam, and I am now wondering if there was an element of truth in that.
His family seems quite secular, and his background not very religious, but now he shows up wearing Islamic clothing, proselytizing, etc. So maybe there WAS a sort of “conversion” into radical Islam? The jihadis are working hard to radicalize (the mostly secularized) mulsims in the US.....perhaps he was one of their successes?
