Some of my best friends have worked for ACORN. They are honest, dedicated and moral individuals who appreciated the mission of this group, which has done so much good for some of our poorest citizens. So I take it personally when Congress reduces ACORN to an object lesson about the purported immorality of some community organizers.
ACORN isn't perfect. Both its loose organizational supervision and occasional zealotry of its organizers have led to abuses. But Congress has been extremely hypocritical and biased in cutting off federal funds.
When two conservative activists posed as a pimp and a prostitute and with a hidden camera went to a number of ACORN's tax preparation offices seeking tax counseling, they managed to find a couple of staffers who gave foolish and unprofessional advice. ACORN has since fired those employees.
But that wasn't enough for Congress. Absent any attempt to assess how widespread such practices are or whether ACORN is striving to monitor its organizers more closely, Congress acted with unprecedented speed and zeroed out ACORN's funding.

I guess the "loose" organization keeps them from all being swept up in the RICO investigation, as well as "friends" in high places.
But Congress has been extremely hypocritical and biased in cutting off federal funds.
yadda,yadda,yadda. Congress was extremely hypocritical and biased in ever giving the taxpayers money to such hypocritical and biased people in the first place.
WHERE IS THEIR CONSTITUTIONAL AUTHORITY??
BS. If ACORN didn’t have a bud in the WH, they’d be prosecuted under RICO.

They can shove those nuts in their rear orifaces and wait until they grow into huge, branching, painful trees before they get anything close to resembling compassion from me.
You're damn right they did, as they have no Constitutional authority to steal my money and give it to that subversive, vote fraud/vote stealing organization in the first place!

And KEEP it zeroed out! The US Government has no business or right to fund partisan political advocacy groups such as ACORN in the first place. The fact that ACORN has been involved in dozens of vote fraud schemes and appears to be rotten to the core regarding general lawlessness, prostitution and drugs makes ACORN pure poison all around.
