Ho-Hum, Another Feathered Dinosaur
--snip--
Last January when the most recent flap about feathered dinosaurs made the rounds (01/21/2009), we listed 18 questions that should be asked before believing the claims made about bird and feather evolution. It would be a good time to review those again (see also footnote 3). The rush to judgment and eagerness to prove dinobird evolution should raise red flags...

Education and faith are mutually exclusive. I’m educated, and you are therefore...?
End of engagement for sure.
You sir, do not understand. Your bias’ keep you ignorant and your posts misrepresenting the facts..
“I can go where the facts lead me. You cannot go outside the limits set by your church leader.”
Not sure if that was a tweak or just more of your typical arrogance. Or maybe your like all the ignorant evos who believe all Christians are Catholics.
I’m not here to defend myself, but just so you know what you’re dealing with I don’t depend on my “church leader” to set the tone for what I believe... I start and end with scripture. So wrong answer there, Chachi. I’ll address your other drivel this evening when I have more time now that you’re avoiding debate and making it personal as usual.

[Meanwhile, back here in reality, polls over the last generation show an ever growing proportion of America favoring biblical creation. The latest polls having been consistently showing the proportion of Americans believing in mankind being less than 10kya old is over 50%. How’s it feel being in the minority?]
What polls are these? Can you cite evidence from a legitimate and scientifically conducted poll that shows these results?
I posted a specific critique regarding how creationists view the nature of scientific evidence for evolution and I get a lengthy response that is mostly Bible quotes and telling everyone about God.
That is the only thing important about the debate of creationism versus evolution. Creationists believe that the contents of the Bible are literally true and evolutionists rely on science to understand truth. It’s no more complicated than that and it’s the reason why there can be no real debate because there can be no compromise when deciding which standard to use - the Bible or science.
I started a blog some time ago when I thought I might start getting more spare time, and several of my posts deal with this topic. Here is one in particular that discusses the trends since the early 1980's:

Which 'version' do you start and end with?
Neither. Just a statement.
Or maybe your like all the ignorant evos who believe all Christians are Catholics.
I have never heard such an ignorant statment before.
Usually, it is the Christian fundamentalists screaming that Catholics are not Christians.
“Which ‘version’ do you start and end with?”
Problem is you don’t have the ability to post anything without a personal affront.
My mother told me not to play with jerks, so adios.
Problem is you have a problem. You take everything as a personal affront. It is a very natural and common question to inquire of which scripture one reads.
Cool blog. What happened to it?
Maybe in 10 or 20 years I'll have free time again...
I was just curious because I have run across a few other Christian conservative bloggers who didn’t have the time to keep up with their blogs and I thought “what if all these guys pooled a small fraction of their spare time and started a blog together.” Who knows, it might get big and start paying dividends some day!
“It is a very natural and common question to inquire of which scripture one reads.”
Nope... it’s a very natural and common question that evo’s ask when leading Creationists to debate the voracity of their statements.
“You take everything as a personal affront.”
I actually don’t take any of it personally because your beliefs don’t affect my world, but the fact you guys hijack every Christian debate on a website that specifically promotes God and Christian values is maddening. You either have a miniscule lack of understanding of the English language or you purposely take statements from those who oppose your opinion out of context... a dirty deed which is rarely repaid. The tone of your every post is confrontational and argumentative with the exact intent of putting the respondent on defense.
I personally love debating your silly posts, but it’s troubling to me that you enjoy feeling like you have others on the ropes with weak arguments and I’m frankly tired of it... but Jim, showing a fair amount of grace allows the discourse and I can’t argue with that. I respect him and the site too much to quibble so...
Enjoy!
(And, Oh yeah... you wear ugly shoes. Nyah!)
If this were a Christian debate it would be in Religion. I never hijack threads in Religion or other dedicated forums.
As to which version of scripture you read, I would have to know inorder to talk the same language. I am sure that you are aware that different sects go different directions. I bet there are some versions out there that you consider un-Christian.
You must be on the wrong thread. I just rechecked and nowhere in the title or article does it mention Christian, debate, God or values.
Besides. Without guys like me, these threads would die right after the anti-evolution ping was made.
APPLAUSE!!!
Feel better now.
I am glad you are feeling better now.
“... Its funny that you mention Origin of the Species. It wasnt until I actually read the book that I really started questioning the theory. Until that time, I had just assumed the evidence must be there, since all my science teachers and professors taught it like it was set in stone. When I read the book (for Humanities class, ironically), I was almost immediately struck by how much was pure speculation and outright fantasy. ...”
Good post.
