Sarah’s Ghoulish Carousel [MoDo is lying... slap her down in their comments section]
NYTimes ^ | August 15 2009 | MAUREEN DOWD

I’m not sure the man who popped off and tweeted that Sonia Sotomayor was a “Latina woman racist” is the best Henry Higgins for the Eliza Doolittle of Alaska.

But Newt Gingrich was a professor. And he does know something about pulling yourself up by dragging down others and imploding when you take center stage — both Palin specialties.

Besides, he agrees with Sarah — who fretted that her parents and son Trig might be in danger from Obama “death panels” — that we should be very wary about trusting government with end-of-life decisions.

So Newt took it upon himself to become Palin’s Pygmalion. He told Politico that the out-of-work pol should write a book; take a commentator gig on TV; get a condo in D.C. or New York to use as an East Coast base; and prepare three types of speeches — one “to make money,” another to “project her brand” before universities and interest groups, and a vivid campaign stump speech to use for Republican candidates in 2010.

Most important, he advised, the dizzy Palin has to be “clear in her own head what she wants to do.”

Dowd has become Sarah-obsessed. It seems she’s writing about Palin every other column lately. Sarah’s inside their heads setting the charges that will make those heads explode.

Pernicious, corrosive jealousy isn’t pretty don’tchaknow. poor mo, perhaps Peggy Noonan—whom Jim Thompson still has not allowed onto the FR spell checker—will drink a few rounds with sadmo.

Ain’t it somethin’, Modo?

She took a forum, Facebook, more commonly used by kids hooking up and cyberstalking, and with one catchy phrase, several footnotes and a zesty disregard for facts, managed to hijack the health care debate from Mr. Obama.

It was really that simple.
Barry really is a dumba$$.

I don’t quite understand the argument that Section 1233 of HR 3200 is an attempt to coerce seniors into ending their lives by offering free counseling about end of life decisions. The counseling is voluntary; the coercion supposedly comes from your physician’s inability to turn down the $$$ he would make from the counseling; i.e., the money from the counseling session would make him unable to ethically decide whether you really needed it.

I say if your physician cannot be trusted to make his health care decisions separate and apart from the profit motive, then it is clear why we are having a health care crisis—the doctors make more money when they prescribe more treatment. More office visits, more physical therapy, more surgery, more MRI’s....all done in the name of increasing their paycheck. Now actually, I agree with this assessment, but there has been precious little talk about how the profit motive influences doctors treatment decisions. Over treatment is always blamed on trial lawyers. But studies have consistently shown that where doctors are paid on a salary basis, rather than fee for service, the health care bills go down substantially. This is an avenue for reform that deserves more consideration.

And the obsession with SArah Palin continues. Question: “If she is hurting Pubs everywhere, wouldn’t ignoring her be the sensible approach?”

I was watching Laura Ingram subbing for BOR and she had a RAT on, who was oozing disdain for anyone who was opposing anything not to his liking. He was allegedly a speechwriter for Biden. Ha, how do you write speeches for a plagarizer? that’s got to be some cushy goverment job, like traffic light observer or Director of Communications (Exrtaterrestrial Division).

I have to admit, I only read the excerpt of Dowd’s column you provided. I can pretty much guess the rest. This is about the tenth time in the last few months that Dowd has dipped her pen into her seemingly bottomless well of venom to attack Sarah Palin. I honestly believe that the leftist tactic of hurling personal insults is wearing very very thin, especially with so many other pressing problems facing the nation and the world.

If (as you assert with no links to proof) health care bills go down where doctors are on salary, this would most likely be due to the fact that they're not personally responsible for liability insurance premiums and thus order fewer unnecessary tests as a defense against ambulance chasers. In other words, it's an argument for tort reform, terrifying as this is to Dems.

BTW, nice job regurgitating Obama's "arguments"
