Revolt is brewing among AARP members against AARP leadership

Last week I wrote in this space that Obamacare could be the death of AARP because it would expose to the rank-and-file of the 40 million member seniors group - most of whom oppose Obamacare - how their Washington leaders have been taking them for a ride for many years.
The AARP leadership scoffed at that suggestion, but check out the video of a Dallas AARP meeting in this post by Moe Lane at Red State. The leadership wanted to give the members the usual dog-and-pony show in favor of government-run health care, but the members weren't buying it. So the leaders got up and left. Evidently, you either sit down, shut up and listen to your leaders in AARP, or they abandon you.
If it happened in Dallas, you can be certain that similar scenes are taking place at other AARP meetings all over the country.

Doesn't Art Linkletter have a competing senior's organization of some kind?

AARP tells people that there are hundreds of billions of dollars in the Social Security “trust fund”. If that’s not enough to make you suspicious about the organization, you probably voted for Baraq.

I hope so. I have known of the left leaning for years and have never joined for that reason.

AARP has long been a liberal group. Family hasn’t believed me when I’ve pointed that out. They are late to the party.
I thought the group was USA Next, but I can’t find their website.

I’ve been getting their mail to join for about 5 years. Works good, save it for winter to start the fireplace with.

I’d like to see it start by firing that lardass broad who walked out of the meeting when the members demanded to be heard.
On the other hand, I could care less what happens to AARP, with luck they and ACORN will all just disappear in a cloud of liberal smoke.

That big-assed woman who shut down that AARP meeting should be canned, no pun intended. For cryin’ out loud, when you know your meeting is being videotaped, do you really want to come across as a bully, knowing you’ll likely end up starring on YouTube? Stupid, stupid, stupid.

Reep what the sow...
How many years (since the Grace Comission) have they stopped SSI reform?
No tears here, let them collapse under the weight of their own shell game just like GM did....

No, other than the fact that the Left is smearing it, as a basic Google search would demonstrate.

That is because the AARP bosses get millions of dollars from the tax payers and will not show how much they make which is in the large millions, I stopped being with this left wing robbery organization several years ago when I learned that they collected millions from the tax payers (as a gift from the government) and made billions from their insurance.

I had my car insurance with Hartford which I got through AARP. I called today and canceled my 3 car policy. I was asked twice why I was leaving Hartford, I told them, “that I could not allow AARP to get one more dime of our hard earned money with them pushing Obama’s health care.”
A very nice and professional lady told me that they have never experienced so many phone calls and cancellations as they are now on the health care issue, or any other issue.
It looks like the bear is being awakened!

But I think they are definitely a shill for the Democratic party.
