Obama says police acted 'stupidly' in arrest

WASHINGTON – President Barack Obama said Wednesday that police acted "stupidly" in the arrest of prominent black scholar Henry Louis Gates Jr. and that despite racial progress blacks and Hispanics are still singled out unfairly for arrest.

"This still haunts us," Obama said.

Obama called Gates a friend, and said he doesn't know all the facts of the case. Nonetheless, Obama said, anyone would have been angry if treated the way Gates claims police in Cambridge, Mass., treated him. Gates, a Harvard University professor, claims he was arrested in his home after showing ID to police who responded to a report of a possible burglary.

"Cambridge police acted stupidly in arresting somebody when there was already proof he was in own home," Obama said during a prime-time news conference that otherwise focused on the health care debate.

I think we are seeing evidence of the unflappable Barrack Obama beginning to fray around the edges. We've know all along that he was dead meat without his teleprompter, but fallen to new lows with last night's performance.

The man is an empty suit who delights in class warfare and whose single goal is to bring socialism to America. It was the most pathetic performance I have ever seen by a President.

Among the Left any confrontation between a Black man and a White man should result in the White man groveling and appologizing for his inherently warped character and unfortunate existence.

This was not handled correctly by whitey. Gates is demanding sensitivity training for the police force so whitey can be taught his place.

National, state and city crime statistic have, for decades, consistently shown that the most efficient and fair administration of justice, would be a system in which RACIAL PROFILING IS AGGRESSIVELY IMPLEMENTED AND PURSUED.

Sorry for your less than pleasant experience.

Being a cop isn’t easy, especially when you have to answer for others that aren’t as dedicated or thoroughly professional in the commission of their duties.

The cops were called to PROTECT this man's house when a Citizen thought the guys house was being burgularized.

The idiot should have eagerly handed over his ID and THANKED the cops for their service.

But then...some people take offense when they are asked for their ID when they use a credit card. They're idiots too.
