Sarah Palin trashed by members of John McCain's campaign team in Vanity Fair

Alaska's lipstick-wearing pit-bull is a "Little Shop of Horrors."
That's how one longtime friend and campaign trail companion of John McCain, the vanquished 2008 GOP presidential nominee, described veep nominee Sarah Palin.
In an expansive story in the August edition of Vanity Fair, a slew of senior members of McCain's campaign team told reporter Todd S. Purdum that they suffer a kind of survivor's guilt following the 2008 presidential election.
"They can't quite believe that for two frantic months last fall, caught in a Bermuda Triangle of a campaign, they worked their tails off to try to elect as vice president of the United States someone who, by mid-October, they believed for certain was nowhere near ready for the job, and might never be," Vanity Fair reports.
During the campaign, there were reports of anonymous McCain aides describing Palin, the governor of Alaska, as a "diva" and a "whack job."
The Vanity Fair article recounts how strained Palin's relationship was with the McCain advisers. She maintained "only the barest level of civil discourse" with Tucker Eskew, the operative assigned to be her chief minder, the magazine reports.
She believed Steve Schmidt, McCain's top strategist, had lied to her about conducting polling in Alaska - that was a "belief she conveyed to anyone who would listen," the magazine reported.

Another interesting connection; in the Vanity Fair article, Purdum (clearly lying about this) writes that several Alaskans told him:
"independently of one another, that they had consulted the definition of 'narcissistic personality disorder' in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders 'a pervasive pattern of grandiosity (in fantasy or behavior), need for admiration, and lack of empathy' and thought it fit her perfectly."
Hmmm, reminds me of someone (besides zer0).
LOL...
Well the Log Cabin boys(?) will be doubly pleased...
Only to you and your caring "support group".
"Hi, my name is Servant Of The Left, and I'm a rumor monger."
"Hi, Serv."
I can tell you’ve been crushed by the weight of my intellectual superiority.
So, I’ll refrain from describing my rugged good looks, my amazing athletic prowess or the satisfaction I bring to my trophy wife (42-26-34) several time each day.
It is hard to tell if you are one of the most conceited yet deluded idiots around or one funny SOB with one heck of an act.
Maybe a little of both.
Either way it is amusing as hell...
You got us, we never stood a chance...
Run along now, I am sure there are others who could benefit from your knowledge and intellect......
David Welch, deputy research director for the McCain-Palin ticket...complained "significant parts of the story are based on half truths and gossip from staffers who refused to go on the record."
Please note: These are quotes from REAL PEOPLE who can (and I'm sure will) be approached for verification.
That makes these statements wholly different and infinitely more reliable than the cowardly "anonymous" tripe most of you fell for.
Okay, I have a tee time with Tiger.
I’m having dinner with Haley so I gotta go too.
Tell Tiger I still owe him that ten spot from last month’s charity scramble at the club...
Will do!
” Personally, if I were her I would start drilling for oil in Alaska whether or not its on so-called Federal land or state land. It would be interesting to see the Feds try to make a case for stopping her from making Alaska independent from foreign oil.”
I’d agree. Also, once you have actually been in the state , as we just were ,you realize why it’s called the “Last Wilderness”.
Drilling there would be unnoticable.
Also, interesting fact picked up on our recent trip. The caribou herd, threatened by anti-pipeline critics as facing declines, has actually increased.....
The pipeline actually provides a heat source for them during the extreme cold.
Wonder why the MSM hasn’t reported that.
The senior campaign officials passed by not taking the bait.
You failed.
I guess those senior officials failed after all:
Jason Recher says (" he was tired of reporters using information about Mrs. Palin from people unwilling to go on the record") and David Welch says (allegations made against her by former staffers ... based on half truths and gossip from staffers who refused to go on the record.).
Recher and Welch (along with Scheunemann) respond directly to distance themselves from the McCain staff that made these allegations. Recher and Welch use precise wording which clearly indicate that OTHER (cowardly anonymous) McCain staffers DID in fact provide VF the material, but it wasnt them.
Well it's a good word, with textual richness.
Doesn’t fit their template. Any fact that does not support their biased and juvenile arguments is discarded. Lefties remind of primitive societies that, when faced with the unknown or fear of something, simply will it away by not giving it a name or talking about it.
