who determines morality?

When a party decides to be the author of morality are they not being a sort of church, with moral guidlines as to what is acceptable to maintain good standing within the body?

our politicians are representatives of the constituents that vote them in. You are getting your church and politicians confused...to have a “moral” politician is an added bonus, but not a prerequisite, but remember the same morality is that of the person who is only moral because of the grace of God. If you believe we are saved by Grace...then shouldnt the same grace be extended to them if they sin....if you can’t do that, for a politician...then you or anyone else should never hope for a moral politician.

Sure, that grace should be extended to them if they sin, and are asking for the grace to change. HOWEVER, that doesn’t mean there should be no consequences to their actions. Maybe the power got to be too much and he thought he was untouchable. Maybe, just maybe, through the humbling of a powerful man, he may find himself ready to ask for and accept the grace God will surely offer. If there is no consequence, including losing the office of governor, he may never get to that point. Who knows. However, let’s not complain about Bill Clinton, and scream how character matters, and then be hypocritical about how much character counts when it is one of “our guys” who falls.
