McDonnell’s main problem is that he is easily portrayed as a sock puppet for the Pat Robertson types.
I think his career has shown otherwise.

What exactly is a ‘Pat Robertson type’? Is it a family values, common sense conservative who believes in God and loves his family and his country? If so, McDonnell is guilty as charged. Is it a Protestant Evangelical Christian? McDonnell is Catholic but shares the same cultural values that most Evangelicals share.
