CBS announcer: Any U.S. soldier would shoot Pelosi, strangle Reid @ 5:16 pm by Michael O'Brien
CBS Sports commentator David Feherty drew criticism Friday for suggesting any U.S. soldier would murder House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) if given the chance.
"From my own experience visiting the troops in the Middle East, I can tell you this, though: despite how the conflict has been portrayed by our glorious media, if you gave any U.S. soldier a gun with two bullets in it, and he found himself in an elevator with Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, and Osama bin Laden, there's a good chance that Nancy Pelosi would get shot twice, and Harry Reid and bin Laden would be strangled to death," Feherty wrote in an a D Magazine piece welcoming former President George W. Bush back to Dallas.
Feherty, a former professional golfer who now helps call golf events for CBS, said that troops love former President Bush by contrast, and praised the former commander-in-chief for having prevented additional terrorist attacks during his time in office.
Liberal media watchdog Media Matters for America demanded an apology for the remarks Friday.
"Mr. Feherty's violent comments about Speaker Pelosi and Majority Leader Reid are disgusting," said Media Matters President Eric Burns. "Suggesting that our troops would attack the leaders of the very democracy they've sworn to sacrifice their lives for is an insult to their integrity, honor, and professionalism. CBS Sports should demand its golf analyst apologize to our soldiers."
That assures that our soldiers will be forbidden to have ammo.
I’m going to laugh myself silly should the day ever come where the folks at Media Matters, Reid and Pelosi are actually put up against the wall.
I do wonder how our nation will change when the bulk of the military return home. I’m hoping we’ll have some strong conservative leadership coming home.

Point well made. If the GOP had the guts to do to Obama what the radical left did to Bush, he would gone from the Oval Office, convicted on untold counts of fraud, and gone from our lives.

For the record, Feherty didn't write that our troops WOULD shoot Nanzi Pelosi and Hairy Reid, but that it would be LIKELY.
You know, kinda like how Nanzi Pelosi said she was told that waterboarding COULD be used but was not told that it WOULD be used.

Finally, someone has the balls to say what a lot of people are thinking. And, HE WAS JOKING. He was using humor to make a broader, more truthful point. Jon Stewart, David Letterman and Gasbag Olberdork do it every night and are lauded as some kind of geniuses.

Actually, I'm stunned. Perhaps people aren't aware of Feherty's rather strange sense of humor. But, to my eyes, he's clearly kidding - and I think it's funny - and true.
Feherty is wicked funny.
We saw him at the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am this past February (actually for the last 7 or 8 Februarys) and we were highly impressed when he came over to the rope line just a few feet from where we standing to shake hands with a couple of Air Force officers (I'm assuming they were officers based on their uniforms) and thanked them for their service.
A side note, he had just got done interviewing the guy who played President Palmer on "24" who also came over to shake the officers' hands and after shaking the second officer's hand he turned back to the first and said, "You look familiar. I think we've met before."
To which the officer replied, "Yes, sir. You came and visited us at (some city) in Iraq last year."
President Palmer said, "Oh, yes. That was the (whatever military detachment) base. We enjoyed our visit" (or words to that effect).
I wrote David Feherty an e-mail of support in which I reminded him of that encounter and thanked him for being such an ardent supporter of our troops.
