Savage's colleagues react in horror 'Thank God we broke away from that cowardly country'
WASHINGTON Michael Savage's talk-radio colleagues and competitors reacted in horror today to news that the No. 3 host in the U.S. was banned from entering the United Kingdom
"As a host who witnessed first hand the hate speech not only tolerated but encouraged by the U.K., I am appalled and amused at the suggestion that Michael Savage is banned from the U.K. for his speech," said Rusty Humphries of Talk Radio Network. "Thank God we broke away from that cowardly country."
Lars Larson, a Pacific Northwest talker with national distribution, sees the action by the U.K. as a warning to all who exercise their First Amendment rights in the U.S.
"I often disagree with the WAY that Michael Savage says things," said Larson. "I think he's often rude and crude unnecessarily. But isn't that precisely the point? That is exactly the kind of speech the founders of our country meant to protect with the First Amendment. England says a lot about itself and the government's attitude toward its subjects when it forbids a man from coming to Great Britain because he presents challenging ideas presented in a challenging way. And it should send a cold chill through the heart of any man who loves freedom when he asks himself, 'whose ideas and speech will be banned by government next?'"

First Geert and now Savage.
The UK is bound and determined to bow down five times a day, huh?
Michael Savage is not the issue, the left’s assault on freedom is the issue.
Might have to wait awhile
Savage has defended them in the past.
I do not like Savage, nor do I like his show. I listened to it for a short time but it was too abrasive. However, the “thought police” are out there in full force. The quotes from this English woman are enough to make one’s hairs stand on end. She kept saying his “views.” Meanwhile, I see that Osama Bin Laden was not on their list. Hmmmm.
They have been in the death spiral for some time now.
I can’t believe he is number three.
I don’t like Savage, but I can’t imagine why the Brits would deny him entry. Probably motivated by the Muslims, since he was the one that coined the phrase “Islamofascist”.
It will be interesting if Mark Levin weighs in on this. While he doesn’t like Savage, he dislikes actions like these more.
Rush and Sean will NEVER mention it.. neither of them have the stones.
Yes you are correct. This is coming from one of the all time dominating countries in history. How many colonies have they had over time and still have?
Well they can put my name on the list and the names of my kids and grand kids next time they get into a war they cant win by themselfs.
I agree......I still LMAO when Savage calls Sean the Wallbanger. Too damn funny.
“Michael Savage is not the issue, the lefts assault on freedom is the issue.”
I tend to agree. I can’t stand Savage; he’s an idiot at best, a plant to make conservatives look stupid at worst. He’s been used as a useful idiot by the Left on more than one occassion (the Dubai port deal being an example).
Indeed, I suspect he is a liberal who is playing his idea of what an over-the-top conservative might act.
That said, the man is engaging in SPEECH. He incites no one to violence.
This is basic censorship of ideas, no matter how silly the speaker.
Abe Foxman of the Jewish Anti_Defamation League came out against Geert Wilders!
As abrasive, rude and pompous he sounds sometimes, I like
his independent thinking, he is very insightful on many issues.
There is nothing Savage has said that hasn’t also been said on Free Republic. Today they come for him, tomorrow they might find this forum and its members hateful as well. Regardless of what you might think of him or his views this is a dangerous encroachment on free speech.
First they came for Savage, and I didn’t speak up because I thought he was a schmuck...
...
... And then they came for me...
This will backfire. The Brits will wonder who this “Savage” is and listen to him on the internet
I know, you would think he'd be at least #2.
