Boy, Bush and Santorum really look like geniuses for helping this creep survive in 2004, don't they?

Why do we have so many idiots on our side?

There is no such thing as a “moderate” Republican, just as there is no such thing as a “moderate” Muhammadan.

This is why the GOP must have a very ‘tight’ conservative agenda. The “moderate” aka Blue Dog Democrats need to switch Parties, too.

Guess that includes me.

A big thank you to the GOP establishment for backing the POS against Toomey. As always, help left-wing scum and take it in the shorts.

I'm happy to say I have voted against Specter at every opportunity. Now I won't have to search the ballot to do so.

Specter + Franken (puke) = 60

So what will it take to get Leiberman to caucus with the GOP?

Specter To Switch Parties
By Carl Hulse

Ryan McFadden/Reading Eagle, via Associated Press

Senator Arlen Specter faced a tough primary race against former Representative Pat Toomey.Senator Arlen Specter of Pennsylvania said he would switch to the Democratic party Tuesday, potentially presenting Democrats with a possible 60th vote and the power to break Senate filibusters as they try to advance the Obama administration’s new agenda.

Congressional aides and others close to the long-time Republican party maverick said Mr. Specter, who faced a difficult re-election next year, was going to announce he would become a Democrat.

If Al Franken prevails in his ongoing court case in Minnesota and Mr. Specter begins caucusing with Democrats, Democrats would have 60 votes and the ability to deny Republicans the chance to stall legislation. Mr. Specter was one of only three Republicans to support President Obama’s economic recovery legislation.

“We will welcome him with open arms,” said Senator Debbie Stabenow, Democrat of Michigan.

What a weakling and fraud.
He’s takes money from the RNC under false pretenses and turns tail when the going gets tough.
Coryn has egg all over his face now ,too.
Please take Collins, Snowe and McCain with you.
They all deserve each other.

This is very good news. Steele and the other GOP bigwigs won't have to support Specter any longer for fear of losing a so-called Republican seat.

Specter switches back from whence he came. He was a Dem until he wanted the nomination for Philadelphia DA and switched to the GOP only to get an available nomination, not for any reasons of principle.

Does that mean that Cornyn and the other losers will no longer support him for reelection?

The leadership of the GOP is no better than union thugs. They back the most senior members irrespective of their leftist ideology.

The NRSC was ready to back this idiot for re-election right up to the time he switched parties.

This is why the public doesn’t take the leadership at the RNC and the NRSC seriously.

It is tactically bad news to lose a Republican Senator, and an even-occasionally Republican vote.

Having said that, I've held Spectre in absolute contempt since he borked Bork. He's an opportunistic, morally-clueless traitor. I'm just happy he's removing the veil so we can actually see the T-shirt now.

Good riddance, Specter, you piece of filth!

And Thanks a lot! George Bush, for helping him get re-elected! We really needed that!

I wonder what pay off Sphincter is going to get for helping Dems pass national healthcare reform. That’s what this is all about, really. Dems don’t think they can take public opposition to passing healthcare reform under budget reconciliation. Now with Sphincter’s traiterous switch they have 60 votes and can pass it w/out legislative gimmicks.
