Beautiful. Specter just gave the rats their filibuster proof majority.Which means they have NO political cover when their agenda fails. Our guys, even the more spineless ones, can be relentless about condemning the liberal agenda, because the Dems have all the votes they need. It's actually a good thing.

Yea, but there’s gotta be some PA Dem who is really po-ed.

Do you really think that once we go down the path of the health care debacle we can return? Dems with a filibuster-proof majority will take us right over the cliff.

National Republican Senatorial Committee Chairman John Cornyn released a letter today offering a full-throated endorsement of Sen. Arlen Specter in his coming primary against former congressman Pat Toomey, "Article"

So, how about all of that RNC money that was spent getting him through the primaries so he could keep his senate seat. What a train-wreck of a political party Yep. For the most part, this is a GOP problem.

Do you really think that once we go down the path of the health care debacle we can return?Yes, I do. The TEA parties showed that regular people are finally getting fed up enough to take action. At some point, as Maggie Thatcher said, socialism fails because it runs out of other people's money to spend. It won't be easy, but it'll happen.

Even with Margaret Thatcher, Britain had and still has socialized medicine. Once it’s in place, just like social security, it isn’t going to be rescinded.

"National Republican Senatorial Committee....endorsement of Sen. Arlen Specter....against former congressman Pat Toomey,"
THAT'S the article I was looking for - thanks.
(And to think - we could have had Toomey in his Senate seat - shame on the NRSC)

But once a majority get something “free” they won’t allow it to be taken from them. We are now seeing the fruits of the first generations having a welfare system in place from the time of their births. The electorate wants cradle to grave care from the government. They will argue that you take it away from someone else, but don’t take it away from them.
