A new Gallup Poll finds 51% of Americans in favor and 42% opposed to an investigation into the use of harsh interrogation techniques on terrorism suspects during the Bush administration. At the same time, 55% of Americans believe in retrospect that the use of the interrogation techniques was justified, while only 36% say it was not. Notably, a majority of those following the news about this matter "very closely" oppose an investigation and think the methods were justified.

Knowing the media and polls, that probably doesn’t include telling them that it saved LA.

Hell, for $100, you can waterboard me.

Such drama over a freaking hazing prank.

If Janet Napolitano is doing the hugging, I'd talk in order to avoid it. That's one mean looking woman.

Perhaps if they added stern language?

Notably, a majority of those following the news about this matter "very closely" oppose an investigation and think the methods were justified.

This is very notable. If you were to read hyperventilating columnists and their nutroots puppetmasters, you'd think the opposite: that the "educated" public was really upset that poor little mass-murderer KSM was waterboarded.

Turns out those most aware of the issue are mature enough to understand full well that KSM had to be broken or else thousands of lives would have been lost.

I want to know which of these pious liberals would oppose waterboarding terrorists who knew the location of their children who had been taken hostage and had resisted “other means” of obtaining the info.

Provided that they will sign a binding statement pledging never to seek use of enhanced interrogation methods to obtain their children’s release, the takers can pride themselves on their moral superiority.

The rest can STFU.

My son is a Special Forces Detachment (A Team) Commander. During the “SEERS” segment of his Special Forces Training, he underwent Sleep Deprevation, Water Boarding. Head Slammend into Walls, Slapping and undergoing frigid temperatures with no clothes. This is routine training for many of our pilots and Special Operations Personnel from all branches. George Marshall was Water Boarded as part of his cadet hazing at the Citadel. When it comes to terrorists though, I guess it is forbidden torture. The real lesson here is don’t bother to take prisoners and keep a supply on hand of throw away AK-47’s.

After yesterday’s fly-over above New York City, a few others might have a change of heart about the so-called torture. A lot of bad memories were rekindled.

So 55% support water-boarding al Qaeda, but 51% support show trials for Bush administration officials for water-boarding al Qaeda.

Makes perfect sense. Effing idiots.
