Well I didn’t mean it in his terms...LOL. I meant it as the press putting those stories out made it seem like we were involved with institutional abuse and instutional disrespect of the Islam, even though I believe America is one of the few countries (the only really) who has been tolerant and compassionate of others throughout our history.
As a result, those in the ME believed it and sadly some Americans believe it. I can understand how those in the ME would believe it. I worked with Iraqis for 3 years to support the efforts in Iraq and the culture is very very different from ours. How can I say it...what ever you tell them, they take it very literally. I learned my lesson the hard way more than a few times. I knew what you meant. I was just saying once that info got out, whether it was true or not, caused a lot of problems for our personnel on the ground because of the perception of those in the ME. That’s what I am upset and worried about because I have family and friends in both countries...my family has suffered, other families I know have suffered greatly. I agree. I can’t stand him. It’s worse than the Clinton years, IMO.
