[Vice President] Dick Cheney Calls Out the President
The Sundries Shack ^ | April 21, 2009 | Jimmie Bise

Posted on 04/23/2009 2:08:22 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

Former Vice President Dick Cheney, who is rapidly becoming my favorite retired politician, unleashes his inner Aunty Entity and tells President Obama, “Spin the wheel, Raggedy Man!”

But what bothers Cheney this week is not so much that President Obama released the Justice Dept’s memos on the CIA’s enhanced interrogation techniques in recent years.

It’s that the new president simultaneously withheld other classified memos that show what those interrogation techniques produced, the information that, Cheney says, those interrogations successfully helped prevent another attack on the homeland since 9/11. The results too, should be part of the national security debate, Cheney adds.

“One of the things that I find a little bit disturbing about this recent disclosure,” Cheney tells Hannity, “is they put out the legal memos, the memos that the CIA got from the Office of Legal Counsel, but they didn’t put out the memos that showed the success of the effort. And there are reports that show specifically what we gained as a result of this activity. They have not been declassified.”

“I formally asked that they be declassified now. I haven’t announced this up until now, I haven’t talked about it, but I know specifically of reports that I read, that I saw that lay out what we learned through the interrogation process and what the consequences were for the country.”

“And I’ve now formally asked the CIA to take steps to declassify those memos so we can lay them out there and the American people have a chance to see what we obtained and what we learned and how good the intelligence was, as well as to see this debate over the legal opinions.”

He is exactly right. The President’s release had no practical national security value. In fact, as the former Director of the CIA and the former Attorney General detailed, it will do us no little harm. His decision was purely political and Cheney is going to force him to prove it. If the President doesn’t release all the memos, he’s going to have to explain why it was vital that he reveal how we got our intelligence but not what that intelligence gained us. That’s a sticky position for the President, who is trapped between the need to serve the security interests of our country and the need to serve the political interests of his anti-war supporters whose money helped fuel his campaign.

Moe Lane says that President Obama has a bigger problem, than Darth Cheney. His decision to release only the “bad” memos burned the CIA badly and he needs to get them back on his side lest he suffer the same “death from a thousand leaks” that President Bush suffered for several years. Unfortunately for him, that puts him back on the same tightrope between national security and his campaign donors.

William Jacobson puts the choice even more starkly: “Which City Would You Sacrifice?”

In the end, it does come down to that. It’s a hard world and we have to make hard choices. There is no Tomorrow-morrow Land out there. The President is cheating us by withholding the rest of the memos.

Mr. Obama doesn't realize who he's tangling with. Dick Cheney was Jerry Ford's White House Chief of Staff when Barry was in the Indonesian maddrassa and Bush 41's Secretary of Defense when he was still working for ACORN.

Obama is too scared to take on a grownup like Cheney.

Not to mention that he cut his teeth with Richard Nixon. He’s not going to fear anything after that.

In a perfect world, Cheney would have run in 08, and the American people would have taken the race seriously enough to have given him 85% of the vote.

Obama fears Dick Cheney. Dick Cheney has a bigger penis than Obama, and he's afraid Obama's baby mamma gonna find out about it...

It’s only fair to see both sides of this story, Why do i think Obama will stone wall on the release of the memo’s concerning the good the methods did.

Maybe it has something to do with him hiding his own records of school and birth.

This was one of the most stupid moves ever made by the way.

Obama and his Socialist Congress are trying to “blame” the Bush Admin for the fact that we have had no terrorist attacks in the US since 9/11/01. Obama and his fellow Socialists have profound brain defects.

The question we should all be asking is this: What is the Obama Admin doing now to prevent a terrorist attack — another 9/11 or worse here in the US? So far all of Obama’s actions have been geared to helping the terrorists -— releasing those held at Gitmo, announcing that we will pull all troops out of Iraq, and appeasing Iran, the biggest state sponsor of terrorism in the world -— to give a few examples.

Who will Obama blame when the inevitable “new” 9/11 happens?

Sadly, after the way Pres. Bush behaved in his final months in office. He should remain out standing in his field. But, lets get back to the topic. Dick Cheney is and always has been someone who has put the welfare of the nation far ahead of his own. His gravitas has often held this nation together while the children played at greatness. The Vice Presidential debates gave us a glimpse. His supreme loathing by the likes of the Clintons, Reids, Pelosis, and 0bamas of this world speaks volumes about who we can trust.

I sure hope that Bush/Cheney took with them enough documents to DO THE JOB, if ZERO gets TESTI.
We don’t need another “hiding documents in your pants and jock-strap” situation. It won’t go as well for Republicans as it did for that democrat, “what’s his name??”

I have been wondering about impeachment possibilities should we put the Republicans back in power in the House and Senate. A President’s first responsibility is to protect the US and at some point this President has or will cross the line. I personally believe he has crossed that line already, it is clear he is decimating our ability to defend ourselves. He is giving Iran free run, Pakistan is about to be taken over by the Taliban, he is strongly supporting Hamas while deserting Isreal, He is basically embracing our enemies and persecuting our allies and those within the country who protected us...

Go Mr. Vice President!!! I had the honor of meeting him a few years ago on behalf of the citizens of Los Angeles. It was amazing! I’d love to hang out with him. People don’t get how much fun he can be. He’s really inspiring!

His actions speak for him. The libs are already squirming. Nancy Pelosi is starting to scream, I didn’t know! The Dems already know that this is going to bite them. Bet they are burning the midnight oil to find a way to work this. Ain’t goin’ to happen cause they used these same techniques.
