Revenge of the RINOs (Meghan McCain)
The Daily Beast ^ | 04/19/2009 | Meghan McCain

Republican in Name Only? Try the future of the GOP. The following is Meghan McCain's address to the Log Cabin Republicans Convention—a group that promotes gay issues within the GOP—on April 18, 2009.

Thank you all for having me here tonight. I am thrilled to be able to speak to you this evening to share some of my experiences from the campaign and observations on where our party is today. And I’m proud to tell you there is a special role for the Log Cabin Republicans to play in our future.

The last two years of my life have been an amazing series of moments. Some sad, some thrilling and others mesmerizing. I want to tell you about some of those moments as well as the ones that are yet to come.

I have been humbled by the outpouring of support that I received during the campaign. The tumultuous ride of my father’s quest for the Presidency has been well chronicled. In October, 2007 I launched the site McCainBogette.com. I chose to do my part in telling the campaign’s story from my perspective for a variety of reasons.

First and foremost, I realized my Dad would always have to deal with people perceiving him as “too old” to be President. I know what you’re all thinking: Why would anyone think that? As with many things, reality is sometimes so different from what people perceive.

I know my father better than anyone. And if he could have a 23 year old wiseass like me as a daughter, then that certainly doesn’t make him too old. Someone had to tell the nation that, and I was up to the challenge.

Second, I have been a child of politics since the day I was born.

Since Meghan attacked Ann Coulter, surely, the fair-minded person that she is, she will also be attacking Janene Garofalo. Who wants to place bets on that?

Republican in Name Only? Try the future of the GOP.

So she’s proud to be a RINO, and that she intends on continuing to infiltrate the GOP.

We need to wrest the GOP away from this empty-headed girl, her father, and the leftist media who support their bid to have all-Rino all the time.

"my life (has) been an amazing series of moments..."

Golly, Gee, Wow, Vacuous, Vapidity, Batman!

Am I the only one who thinks that she is trying to position herself to take over her dad's seat when he retires?

Meg is the Left’s useful idiot.

Like father like daughter. I wonder how soon John McCain found out that he wasn't the press's favorite Republican in 2008?

Perhaps.... errr.... because he's old?

Would all people with the last name McCain, please leave the Republican party—if not the U.S. altogether.

If we stopped paying any attention to this ditzy tub, maybe her fade into obscurity would accelerate.

Again, why are we trying to promote her on FR?

I think of it as "situational awareness." She's in the media enough that her comments could have impact. We need to be aware of the situation in order to counter any negative effects.

Plus folks here have been coming up with some funny comments about her.

I opened the thread to ask the same thing. Every time this ditz opens her piehole, we get a thread about it linking to the tenth-rate website that hired her.

Enough. She's a non-entity. And a distraction.

Um... looking at him and listening for him for more than 4.5 seconds?

John McCain is WAAAAAYYYY past his 15 minutes of fame in our party (which he never deserved to begin with). I don’t see any reason why the blather coming out of his off-spring should given any attention AT ALL.

Republican in Name Only? Try the future of the GOP.

She's 100% right. Anyone who still thinks that the GOP is the party of small government and conservatism is deluded.

The future is yet to be determined. But, yes, she is a fair representation of the republican party of today. The one that got trounced by a political novice and thrown out on their asses.

This idiot acts like it was someone other than her RINO father who got crushed in November.

Is any mover or shaker in the GOP even paying attention to her? I would think that the old guard just laughs.

Oh, and I’d just dare her to go face to face with Sarah Palin. Meghan would have the horn on her nose handed to her on a silver platter.

The future is yet to be determined. But, yes, she is a fair representation of the republican party of today.

She may be what YOU think the Republican party represents, but to 2/3rds of the voters out there, Christian Conservatives are representative of the Republican Party.

And they're hated.

I don't think it's fair, but it's the truth.
