You are correct. No, I’m not surprised, either. But it is so sad.

We were glad Jan Brewer, a GOP woman, replaced Napolitano. Napolitano packed up his after shave and left the state for greener pastures in the District of Corruption working for Zero.

Keys should be changed frequently (and generally they are). This is not because the key could be cracked - it’s because the key could be leaked, lost, stolen, or what have you. While I imagine governments do indeed try to obtain encryption keys, I can’t see how they would be valuable for very long. If you were to tap some sort of communications link and store all the ciphertext you can for some period of time (not an easy task), you might be able to get a key for that data in the future (perhaps it would be less protected). That data could be of no use - perhaps it was time-sensitive.

Data from the FBI’s National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) show background checks on the sale of firearms jumped 29.2 percent in March when compared to March 2008 and were up 27.1 percent for the first quarter of 2009 over the same quarter last year.

NICS Background Checks 2009 The increase follows a 23 percent rise in February, a 28 percent rise in January, a 24 percent rise in December and a 42 percent jump in November, when a record 1,529,635 background checks were performed.

Even October 08 sales were up over the previous year, but just not as much as the months following the election.

Who knew that the development of Homeland Security would turn into a corrupted arm of a corrupt and inept and scared President?

Anyone who cares to look past the end of their nose into the future, that's who.

There's a reason the Constitution limits the power of the central government. The sheeple are all too happy to cede all sorts of powers to the government when they believe the government is on their side. ("Of course gun control makes sense. Confiscation? Don't be ridiculous!") But, one day, the sheeple wake up and realize they failed to heed the obvious warnings before they went ahead and, simply because he was a CHANGE from the incumbent('s party), voted for a superficially attractive candidate who tickled their ears (gave them HOPE) but turns out to be, for instance, a commie-socialist dictator.

re: #355

I was kind of kidding in #355, but the Pandemic Panic card has just been dropped:

Pandemic Alert: Mystery Illness in Mexico
Swine Flu in USA
Rish of Pandemic

Right on the heels of the "extremist" panic.
Odd coincidence? Or are they playing this deck?
What are the odds of calling this?

"Just as a rough guess, it seems likely they will go to the "Epidemic" card next, hyping some panic about Bird Flu, SARS, a new mutated form of AIDS or some as yet unknown virus which they will hype a panic about, claiming everyone needs some new vaccine.Or they could go back to the Rush Limbaugh card. "
