The time is 1:00 p.m. that the U.N. will meet.

Official: U.S. hopes to continue talks with DPRK
-
April 04, 2009
The United States remains hoping to have talks with the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) over the settlement of nuclear issues, U.S. special representative on the DPRK Stephen Bosworth said Friday.
Speaking to reporters, Bosworth said that “we continue to look with great interest to resume” the six-party talks. “That remains our long-term goal and we would hope to return to that goal in as reasonable a period as possible.”
“We will continue to have bilateral contact (with the DPRK) and we are prepared to open that channel at any point.”
Bosworth also urged the DPRK to halt the planned and disputed rocket launch.
“Whether it’s a satellite launch or a missile launch in our judgment makes no difference. It is a provocative act, and we hope that they will still reconsider,” Bosworth said.
“After the dust from the missiles has settled a bit (that) we get back to the longer term priority ... of the six-party (talks),” the special envoy said.
Pyongyang has announced that it will send up a communication satellite as part of a peaceful space program between April 4 and 8. But officials of the United States, South Korea and Japan claimed that the DPRK may in fact plan to test-fire a long-range ballistic missile “Taepodong-2.”
The six-party talks, involving the DPRK, the United States, South Korea, China, Japan and Russia, have been focusing the settlement of nuclear issues on the Korean peninsula since August 2003.

All of the above.
As far as your quiz is concerned, seeing as how the launch took place at 3:00 a.m. Obama-time, his response may very well have been, d) hit the snooze button.
I’m glad i have my FRiends on FR for times like this.
You are all a bunch of whippersnappers.
"And he's going to need help . . . to stand with him. Because it's not going to be apparent initially; it's not going to be apparent that we're right."
six months if push comes to shove
Iran will not play model rockets in their own backyard for fear of what the neighbors—well, at least one of them—will do. The North Koreans fear no one and have no neighbors, just strangers next door who don’t like them or their friends who show up very now and then to raise cain. Who is going to call the cops? What cops? Iran has it made with this nut and his brainwashed Evil-Truman-Show (the film, not Harry S.) legions.
North Korea has pulled schoolyard bully stunt after schoolyard bully stunt since the war, and they have gotten away with it time after time. A toothy response to this? We take back the USS Pueblo.
Haven’t we turned the other cheek enough?
Ummm... Fred. I hate to break it to you, buddy, but Bush is no longer Persident. This ain't a gonna happen...
Well i'm off to bed for a night of tossing and turning in this now so much safer world...sigh.
