Pestered Prop 8 donors file suit Aim to restrict campaign rules

Valerie Richardson Monday, March 23, 2009

After giving $10,000 to California's Proposition 8 campaign last year, Charles LiMandri began receiving some unexpected correspondence.

"I got about two dozen e-mails and hate phone calls," said Mr. LiMandri, who lives in San Diego. "They were calling me Nazi, homophobe, bigot. I tried to engage people once or twice - I said that Proposition 8 had nothing to do with being bigoted, it was about preserving marriage - but people don't want to engage on the issue."

As a lawyer, however, Mr. LiMandri knew what to do with the e-mails.

"I collected them and turned them in to the lawsuit," he said.

Those e-mails are now among hundreds of exhibits in a landmark case challenging California's campaign-finance reporting rules, which require the release of the names, addresses and employers of those who contribute $100 or more to ballot-measure committees.

The lawsuit argues that those who contribute to traditional-marriage initiatives should be exempt from having their names disclosed, citing the widespread harassment and intimidation of donors to the Proposition 8 campaign.

Thank you for all that information, also interesting to note that these killers come from a variety of cultures, so that is not the determining factor. The quote from the Utah LDS man is chilling. When studying for my MA in Psychology (years ago), I did a paper on the causes of child abuse. I discovered pornography plays a huge role, virtually all child abusers, no matter the degree or physical or sexual, or same or opposite sex, were virtual porn addicts.

I made my presentation to (of course) a lefty bunch of spoiled brat students who were fascinated on this point. To them “pornography” is freedom of speech, “as long as it’s in your own bedroom it can’t harm anyone”...that sort of thinking. Now we know from further studies it’s not just a matter of “moral corruption” or “objectifying” the victim, but that the neuronal patterns of men who view/read pornography change: it literally alters their brains (which might explain the truly addictive quality, they crave more and more extreme sensation and stimulation).

Also, homosexual men are almost always into porn and deviant behaviors, they are not “loving” in the same way as a normal heterosexual couple. Lesbians I believe may be in a different category, the tendency toward seeking greater levels of excitement and arousal is not the same as with men. Lesbians, overall, generalizing, will tend to be just as stable and have the same sort of emotional problems as straights, but homosexuals are vastly more promiscuous and extreme in their focus on sexual gratification.
