Rangel brushes off ethics accusations By Kevin Bogardus Posted: 03/22/09 10:47 AM [ET] Rep. Charles Rangel (D-N.Y.) dismissed ethics allegations against him Sunday, saying the charges had no basis in fact.

The chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee said the accusations against him have only emerged from tough but inaccurate press stories and not an investigation by his fellow members of Congress.

“Just because a reporter with the New York Times has a problem with me doesn’t mean the Congress or America has a problem with me,” Rangel said on Fox News Sunday. “It has no merit and it has no facts.”

Rangel is being probed by the House Ethics Committee on a number of fronts.

The powerful Democrat has maintained several apartments in New York City where critics allege he unfairly earned rent control. In addition, Rangel has had problems in correctly filling out his tax returns as well as his congressional financial disclosure forms over the years and has hired a forensic accountant to correct the errors. Committee members are also looking into whether Rangel used his status as House Ways and Means Chairman to improperly fundraise for a project in his name at the City College.

Oh yeah. He’ll rely on the judgment of his fellow co-conspirators. This is not fraud or corruption in their World - Just simply business as usual.

Mr Rangel, I have a immense problem with you feeling you are above the law. I do not know anyone who pays taxes who does not have a problem with you.

That leaves only your partners in crime progressives who do not have a problem with you because they are doing the same as you did or fraud a hundred times worse.

Maybe Sean Hannity is on to something with his Liberal Translation Treatment. I read the sentence above as saying "Rangel has been caught cheating on his taxes more than once and is now hurriedly trying to cover it up".

When is House Ways and Means Committee chairman, Charlie Rangel, going to be investigated for his ties to these communist organizations in New York?

From the website of the Workers World Party:

"Dear Comrade Kim Jong Il...

With his leadership [Kim Il Sung], the Korean people defeated the Japanese colonial occupation and soon after brought about the first defeat of the U.S. imperialist military machine. ...

Workers World Party values our close, comradely relations with the Workers Party of Korea very highly. We are proud to have known Kim Il Sung as a great leader and a comrade in the international communist movement. ..."

With comradely solidarity, Sam Marcy Chairperson, Workers World Party" (1994):

Photo of Charlie Rangel at the podium of a March 19th, 2005 Workers World Party/Troops Out Now rally in Harlem, New York. The occasion marked the 2nd anniversary of the start of the Iraq war. The photo comes from the ("We are proud to have known Kim Il Sung as a great leader and a comrade in the international communist movement. ...") Workers World Party website.

Also appearing at this "peace" rally with the demonRat Charlie Rangel, now chairman of The House Ways and Means Committee, were Saddam Hussein lawyer, Ramsey Clark and convicted terrorist enabler/attorney, Lynne Stewart. Clark, with Workers World Party, started up that other 'peace' group, A.N.S.W.E.R. Clark also heads the International Action Center and was actually once Attorney General of the United States under democrat LBJ.

Behind the Placards
The odd and troubling origins of today’s anti-war movement
David Corn, November 07, 2002

"Officially, the organizer of the Washington demonstration was International ANSWER (Act Now to Stop War & End Racism). But ANSWER is run by WWP activists, to such an extent that it seems fair to dub it a WWP front. Several key ANSWER officials -- including spokesperson Brian Becker -- are WWP members. Many local offices for ANSWER’s protest were housed in WWP offices. Earlier this year, when ANSWER conducted a press briefing, at least five of the 13 speakers were WWP activists. They were each identified, though, in other ways, including as members of the International Action Center.

The IAC, another WWP offshoot, was a key partner with ANSWER in promoting the protest. It was founded by Ramsey Clark, attorney general for President Lyndon Johnson in the 1960s."

Isn't it amazing that we have doofuses like Rangle and Dingle in the legislative branch. I think not. Rangle Dingle Pelosi and Reid. Someone should make a song. Wish I had the talent. I know Rangle, Dingle, Pelosi and Reid. And example of corruptness of power and greed. I'm done

Rosty is another Chicago thug and a Clinton pardon. Kind of tells you how democrats feel about crimes against the United States. Also alerts us once again that the Chicago way is corruption and the citizens have come to accept that as the norm.

Now we have one in the White house and he brought his mafia with him.

Pelosi promised the investigation results would be finalized in early January - it is now the end of Marcc.

At the beginning of this legislative session, the Democrats on the investigating team were reassigned leaving only one Republican. Have not hear anything since on the staffing of the investigation.

Charlie’s club members will find him almost guilty of possible “oversights.” He will then pay the back taxes, plead ignorance on the other accusations, and get a slap on the wrist. “All the pigs are equal, but some are more equal.”
