The Posse Comitatus Act - Prohibits search, seizure, or arrest powers to US military personnel. Amended in 1981 under Public Law 97-86 to permit increased Department of Defense support of drug interdiction and other law enforcement activities. (Title 18, "Use of Army and Air Force as Posse Comitatus" - United States Code, Section 1385)
DoD Dictionary of Military Terms, 2006

And WHO was in office in 1981?
Just say "No".

Have they arrested anyone or are they simply there to help provide control of the situation? That’s the question that needs to be answered.

It also seems to apply only to the military when they’re acting under federal control. Are they doing so in this situation?
