This was written by a woman from a culture where rape is common and frequent. Apparently hot chicks with some coin are the preferred target of rapist?
I’m familiar with her. Admirable woman. But poverty doesn’t protect virtue anywhere.
That particular comment was from the section written by a Harvey Mansfield. I doubt he’s female.
I have no idea what he means by the remark. Certainly very old women are less likely to be targets of rape, but here in FL we’ve had a predator who targets women in their 80s and 90s. Haven’t caught the bleep yet, AFAIK.
Poor women are at least as likely to be raped as their wealthier sisters, probably more so, as they’re more likely to live in higher crime areas.
