Except that the kid who answers the phone in the front office talks to the Senator once at year at the personal staff Christmas party.

I tried to call Specter's office. Couldn't get through. I wanted to ask him if he thought he would get the same care for his Hodgkins after this Bill is law. I was also going to ask him to take a pledge, if he votes ‘yea’, to live under National Health like the rest of us. I know our congresspeople get gold standard health care. I think their care should be the same as ours. Especially if they vote yes on this ridiculous bill.

Too true! It would be OK with me if they were throwing their own money down the toilet. Sadly they are flushing the future income of my grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

I’m a conservative from PA. Specter probably won’t reply to my
letter, as it it started with “I know you’re about 100 years old, so your traitorous actions...”and ended with,”You sicken me.”

Nah. He probably doesn’t believe people who say that. He knows he can always count on convincing the voters that he’s just doing the “right” thing despite it being unpopular - and it seems to have worked for him - the old charmer. They return him everytime ‘cause they just forget by voting time again.

I basically gave them the same message. The Republican Trust is mounting an effort to defeat Specter in next year’s primary. Go to GOPTRUST.org and donate.

It is no use to call or email Specter. We have known all along he is a Democrat in a GOP suit. Specter is sick and he is willing to make another run for it. Why? He is selfish like the rest of these politicians with full election accounts. It is nearly impossible to unseat this guy. Like Kennedy, Byrd, Kerry and others. Specter is there until he drops dead. Casey ran on pro life views and he lied to every voter. He is not nearly the man Gov Casey was. He is manipulative and a progressive leftist

Specter is one of the most detestable creatures in Washington, and that takes some doing.

But the fact is that he’s acting right now as a lightning rod to dissipate the dissatisfaction of conservatives towards most of the leadership of the GOP.

They all let the horse out of the barn quite awhile ago. Getting excited because someone stood in the way of shutting the barn door now seems to lack a certain sense of proportion.

Dollar pares gains after Congress reaches deal on stimulus

Last Update: 2/11/2009 5:17:00 PM

The U.S. dollar gives up some of its gains after Congress gives the green light to a $789 billion stimulus package, muting the lure of the greenback as a safe-haven currency.

Did you find details of the bill on a website they directed you to?

Please share with me-privately- as I cannot find a decent listing.

good one and since I use live in Chadds Ford and King of Prussia.

I also lived 3/4 of a mile from “Ol’ Joe” in Greeneville, DE.

Unfortunately, I have several Appointments with clients the next few days so my contribution will only be to about 15 or 20 more by phone.

Astroturf.
