You beat me to it. Just saw it last night.
I saw Gran Torino over the week end and I’m really not sure what to make of it. It was a pretty good movie though I had hoped for a slightly different ending. I think Clint may have been attempting to bitch slap Spike Lee in at least one scene. I mean, he didn’t have any blacks in Flags of Our Fathers, but he did in this one. But even in that scene that white ‘black wannabecame’ came out looking worse than the black, uh, yoots. I can honestly say I’ve never seen a movie in which so many racist statements were made by a white character.
