It wasn’t easy to see, though. It took replay for me to catch it. The other plays were much easier to spot. I live near Philly, and was hoping for the Steelers-Eagles match. But they couldn’t hold the lead....well, neither did the Steelers, but their offense could do what Philly’s can’t.
You claim the victories are tainted, yet no commentator I have heard has yet to say, “The Steelers have won a hundred Super Bowls, but they are tainted.” Not even noted Steeler hater Cris Collingsworth. As far as championships, yes, there will always be another. I wasn’t jumping up and down and screaming that night. I would have slept well whether the Steelers won or lost. I’m happy to see my team win, but all things must be seen in proper perspective—it’s just a game, not life. The real important thing is having Jesus as Lord and Savior, and that does give me reason to cheer!
I don't need commentators for a football game or a State of the Union address to tell me what I just saw and heard. The commentators are completely reliant upon the charity and good will of the NFL for their livelihoods and therefore have a vested interest in maintaining the "integrity of the game" while staying out of the NFL's doghouse. There are plenty of print journalists and bloggers who have complained about the officiating.
No, you don’t need a commentator. You saw a fact...the Steelers won their sixth Super Bowl...fair and square, like it or not!
Too bad the 6th is tarnished in the eyes of nearly everyone outside the state of PA.
Well the MSM has clearly stated that Obama was elected with a “mandate” so I guess that means it is true!? Aren’t they the ones that get the last word?
But, I digress - at this point there is absolutely NO way the NFL would say that was a bad call. They have lost enough respect due to their officiating in the last two or three years. Can you even imagine the back lash that a “oops” of this magnitude would do to the league. What I am saying is even if it was OBVIOUSLY an incomplete pass, at this point they would have said, “No, it was a fumble.”
I watched the whole game and it was a great game. Had to be one of the top five in the history of the Super Bowl. But, I personally think it was an incomplete pass. I have a DVR and I rewound that picture twenty or thirty times and he looks to have lost the ball, but then re-grasped the ball and hurled it almost ten yards down field. The question is always, is it an empty hand moving forward - NO!
The part that gets me is that they didn’t even go under the hood. I think that would have cleared up or at least made up for 60-70% of the mistakes of the last two or three years - if they had made a effort to ensure it was the right call!

I guess you and I were not watching the same game, because I saw a whole bunch of back and forth through out the game. I mean, Pittsburgh owned the first quarter, but the end of third quarter and most of the fourth was owned by Arizona. So anyone who had nothing to lose in the game could easily see that it could have gone either way!
The SEAHAWKS? Are you kidding me, the Seahawks lost that game solidly! There is no doubt the Seahawks lost that game more than the Steelers won it, but please claiming the Steelers didn’t get the win because of it is nonsense.
I suggest you go watch that game again and count the number of times Seahawks receivers dropped passes in their numbers. Trying to claim they lost that game due to ref calls is rediculous.

It was a fumble. That is a fact. Ten, fifty, a hundred years from now, it will still be a fumble. Historical fact.
Yes, we ALL read the article and it says (I am paraphrasing): No, the NFL does not have a referee problem. All the calls were perfect - especially the last one in the Super Bowl, which we should have taken a few seconds to review, but we didn’t, so it was the right call, too! See, no problems!

Only if you’re a Seahawk fan that just can’t get over it. The calls were legit, the Hawks stunk all game, and have mostly stunk since then. Time to get over it.
Uh, you're half right. The Steelers can claim a real victory because guess what: they won.
