I have no idea why you feel betrayed by President Bush. It's simply irrational in my point of view.

I have spoken my piece. No point in continuing this. Continue to feel betrayed if you wish. I am proud of the President who did the best he could and KEPT US SAFE FOR THE LAST 7 YEARS. I am grateful for the tax cuts, the pro-life actions, the dignity with which he and Laura carried themselves, the lack of scandals, and for his respect and love of the military. I am proud he successfully prosecuted two wars against two terrorist-sponsoring nations, and that he has caught and/or killed so many terrorists.

I am not a fair-weather friend who has to have my every wish granted. I know that ALL presidents (including Reagan) try to get as much of their policies passed while having to compromise with the opposition in some areas. They also have to deal with unespected crises.

So, I don't feel betrayed at all. I am sorry you do, because you are going to find out how REALLY bad things are going to be once he flies back to Texas tomorrow.

Just shut up and move on. No one cares to tolerate your RINO attacks from the past. You and Bush have given us Obama. You’re a happy harpie.

Hang tough as I know you will. People can’t get their facts straight especially when the facts aren’t what they want them to be.

In less than 24 hours change is coming the likes of which I don’t think I’ve seen anything close to in my almost 70 yrs of existence.

The commutation is good for Ramos and Compean and they still stand convicted of felonies. Essentially both served the added sentences above and beyond the 10 yr minimum. Ramos did serve an extra 1 yr above his and Compean basically served his 2 yrs.

Hopefully they learned something about life, treating people and respect for the law.

Quite honestly it doesn't matter whether you think my point of view is rational or not....

It's my point of view...end of discussion!

Things have been steadily going downhill for, at least, the past two years....I certainly expect they will get worse!

These are the times I was born to....and find it comforting they also included Presidents Dwight Eisenhower and Ronald Reagan..

Bush's first four years gave me much hope (even though a few items were bothersome, ie, giving so much control of the education bill to Ted Kennedy (which is like letting the fox guard the henhouse)...etc.

Still, I had hope ....

....but true hope doesn't come from man..

....hope is from God, and He never fails.

One last thought...

Yesterday I said I didn't care what you thought of my opinion...

..but I have come under conviction this morning while reading James 4..."Humble yourselves before the Lord....Do not speak evil against one another"

We were once friends...

..and I have always admired your ability to think on your feet and figure out political machinations and what it might mean.
..you have a good command of words and ideas.

We were both drawn to this site for our own reasons, but there was a common ground on many levels.

We have lost sight of common goals, I think, because our nation has lost sight....

Instead of working together, we fight amongst each other.

We both will answer to our Maker one of these days and that weighs on my heart.

I know God is sovereign.......I know HE has already won, no matter what happens today, or tomorrow or the next day.

I know he understands the innermost workings of George Bush's heart, whether I do or not....and will judge him accordingly, as He will judge me, you, and everyone else.

I know we are in a battle for good or evil....it really is that simple.

But in closing, may I suggest WE ALL stop the name calling & callous disregard for opinions of others.

There are many here, myself included, who are trying to work out, in our minds, what happened to our country and how we might, if possible, fix it.

We are scared, confused and floundering a bit.

Some of us thought George Bush was our ally....and yes, we should credit him with things he did right....but can still be disapointed with things he did wrong, especially toward the conservative base.

Yes, we have to get past this....but damage has been done and its hard to know which direction to go.

Yes, I have been bitter....and I need to put away the bitterness.....as it is destructive and not helpful in thinking clearly toward a solution.

Thanks to Jim Robinson we have this giant bully pulpit where we can discuss, share ideas and try to effect change.

But when folks start arguing and name calling....we all lose.

Free Republic attracts good, great people who want to make a positive difference......

..it also attracts those who wish us harm by disruptive behavior....who infiltrate to harrass and annoy.

I need to let George Bush go.....he is answerable to God now for what he did or didn't do....

...We now have a man in the highest office of the land who may not work for our common good....who may bring us to a world of hurt...

..but we are called to pray for him ....

..and I pray God will change the channels of his heart .....

I pray unborn babies will be safe on his watch....

.. instead of wholesale slaughter continuing.

And I pray you & I will see the joy of the Lord in this day and the days to come.
