I just posted the article and didn't comment. I know what you mean, but frankly most posts here are tame compared to the occasional "nuke city xyz","glassparking lot" comments.

I dissaprove of these comment, but usually ignore them as cynic rants of armchair generals, unless they become too violent.

That being said, I see nothing wrong with what the Egyptians are doing on the border, and in any war inevitably civilians will be caught up.

Also, frankly, I have close to zero sympathy for Gazans who overwhelmingly voted for Hamas, than for i.e. average Joes in countries that are ruled by illegitimate tyrannies ala N-Korea, Saddam's Iraq, the Islamic Republic Iran or Afghanistan under the Taliban.

Meant to say: I have close to zero sympathy for Gazans (...) unlike for average Joes living under illegitimate tyrannies ala N-Korea, Iran, etc. (...)

You are both right. This forum has by and large become a place for armchair generals who know nothing about international affairs and how the world actually works to rage stuff like “Nuke ‘em all,” and to label anyone who disagrees as a liberal weenie.

And for the record, my mom, who is a staunch conservative, works with a Palestinian who she says is “one of the nicest people I’ve ever met.” No, not EVERYone born in the PA is a cold-blooded terrorist. But many are.

While reading this thread I have come across your post. Are you saying that in the countries you gave examples of, these people actually had a choice on their vote?
